It is a statutory body currently under the portfolio of the Minister of Education. The UCJ is the national Quality Assurance Agency for tertiary education in Jamaica. The UCJ also functions as an awards and academic development body for tertiary institutions and programmes in Jamaica. The following are the main functions of the UCJ: 1.
