DEEPING GATE PARISH COUNCIL (DGPC) DRAFT MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL ZOOM MEETING Tuesday 12th January 2021 7:30pm Present Councillors- J Hill (Chair) P Thompson (Vice Chair) J Lill G Purllant S Hudspeth Clerk- D Templeton 264/21 CHAIRS WELCOME the chair welcomed everyone to the meeting including one member of the public. 265/21 APOLOGIES N Kerr. 266/21 OPEN FORUM a member of the public raised the issue of flooding in part of Suttons Lane. Clerk will contact Welland Drainage Board to see if a drain can be made more effective and cleared of vegetation. 267/21 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST none. 268/21 MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING held on 8th December 2020 approved and to be signed by Chair. 269/21 CLERKS UPDATE • Clerk is monitoring the overhanging vegetation on the Peakirk Road/Deeping St James Road. • The lamppost on Peakirk Road has been made safe. • The issues about HGV’s using the Deeping Gate bridge have been referred to P Tebb – PCC’s Network & Traffic Manager, who has been asked for an update on solutions to stop HGV’s using the Deeping Gate Bridge. • Clerk has requested an update from M Benn and L Moore (Public Rights of Way Officers), regarding the footpath flooding issues on Riverside path. 270/21 CORRESPONDENCE none received. 271/21 FINANCE • The Parish Council approved the Budget for 2021/22 and the clerk will complete the precept forms and send to Peterborough City Council. • The Parish Council approved a new bank card for the use of the Clerk/RFO (Responsible Financial Officer). Clerk will apply to Barclays Bank. • PT advised the PC that the rates of pay for parish clerks had been increased from April 2020. The Parish Council agreed the amount of clerk’s back pay. 272/21 PLANNING Mrs L Griffiths 20/01496/FUL Replacement Council have no 104A Lincoln Road dwelling objections Deeping Gate Peterborough PE6 9BA 273/21 COMMUNITY ISSUE • The Parish Council agreed the purchase of new lights for the riverbank Xmas tree. • The clerk reported on a zoom meeting held with P Burns (Welland Rivers Trust) and D Wheatley (Maxey Parish Council). Ideas for consideration for the Nature Recovery Plan include: 10 native trees to be planted in the parish. Improvement and planting of an area near the river. A backwater wet area between Maxey and Deeping Gate. Maintenance of fish ladders on the locks. Purpose built holts. The Parish Council are keen to receive any ideas that residents might have on these suggested projects so please email these to: [email protected] The clerk can post or email any information to residents on these projects. 274/21 VILLAGE MATTERS The 2021 Census takes place on Sunday 21st March 2021 and residents can find information on the noticeboards and the Deeping Gate website deepinggatepc.org Meeting ended @ 20:25.
