Sections of the route are 26km on the Pennine Bridleway National Trail. This map is part of a series that can be downloaded free from www.nationaltrail.co.uk/penninebridleway Tintwistle: Moor Fun Refreshments Mountain Bike Route The Bulls Head pub in Tintwistle. Route length: 16 miles / 26km. Rough Time 3 to 51/2 hours. Continue across first part of the route: the front of the reservoir. Follow cobbles round then TR at Pennine Bridleway C At the end bear left to follow the tarmac lane downhill. Drop down sign. Climb, keeping straight ahead. all the way to meet a gate. TR up the narrow lane (signed Carrbrook). Follow to join a narrow lane, straight ahead then just At the first bend continue straight ahead on the track and through before it descends bear left onto the path. Follow all the gate. Keep following this main track which eventually brings you the way to join tarmac lane & head straight down down to a new housing estate at Carrbrook. TL onto the cobbles and to road junction and TL. follow to roundabout. Straight across and continue to give way. Straight across. Climb now all the way to the Higher Swineshaw Reservoir. Across reservoir & through the gate at the D By the 30mph sign TR onto the Pennine Bridleway. Follow it up and end. Next left through the gate. then across lane. The track now widens for a brief steep climb. Keep Keep following this main track, through gates. Drop following this main track and you will eventually come out on tarmac down to the river.
