THE RACING CALENDAR FEBRUARY 8th 2018 1 ....................................................................................................................................................................................................... RETAIN UNTIL MARCH 22nd, 2018 QUALIFYING RATING LIST FOR FLAT RACE HANDICAPS AND OTHER RATING RELATED FLAT RACES CLOSING ON FEBRUARY 6th and for the closings up to and including March 19th, 2018 subject to amendments and additions as published The following list contains entry qualification ratings for horses in those Flat races with entry restricted by ratings. The list is published for information only. Full lists of qualifying handicap ratings are published each Tuesday on the Official Handicap Ratings area of the Racing Administration Internet site. In order to assess a qualifying rating for entry in Flat race Handicaps and other Rating Related Flat races, reference must be made to these lists. This list may be kept and used for future closings in conjunction with the weekly lists of additions and amendments which are published on the Racing Bulletin area of the Racing Administration Internet site. The next full list containing both Flat and All Weather Track Flat ratings will be published on the Racing Bulletin area of the Racing Administration Internet site on Thursday, March 22nd, 2018. Full Handicap Rating Supplements will no longer be published in The Racing Calendar. The rating shown in the first column below (when present) applies to All Weather Track races and the rating in the second column to Turf races. The Turf rating will also apply for All Weather Track races unless a separate All Weather Track rating is allocated by the Handicappers. The All Weather Track rating will apply for All Weather Track races only. Horses not included in this list or in the published rating list on the Racing Administration Internet site but qualified to run in Handicaps under Rule (F)31 by having run three times in Flat races in Great Britain up to and including the Saturday prior to closing may be entered and will, subject to the provisions of Rule (F)33, be allotted weights in the Handicaps for which they are entered unless the rating subsequently allocated by the Handicapper is outside the qualifying rating band specified in the conditions of the race, in which case the entry will be invalid (see Rule (F)80.4). Their ratings will then be included in the next publication of the rating list. Horses not included in this list or in the published rating list on the Racing Administration Internet site but qualified to run in Rating Related Maiden races or Classified Stakes races under Rule (F)30.2 by having run three times in Flat races in Great Britain up to and including the Saturday prior to closing may be entered, and will be allotted weights in the races for which they are entered unless the rating subsequently allocated by the Handicapper is outside any qualifying rating bands specified in the conditions of the race, in which case the entry will be invalid (see Rule (F)80.4). Horses not included in this list or in the published rating list on the Racing Administration Internet site but qualified to run in Handicaps, other than Heritage Handicaps, Handicaps with a Total Prize Fund of £30,000 or more, and Nursery Handicaps, under Rule (F)31.3.2 or in Classified Stakes races under Rule (F)30.3 by having run once or twice only (including a win) in Flat races in Great Britain up to and including the Saturday prior to closing may be entered, and will be allotted weights in the races for which they are entered unless the rating subsequently allocated by the Handicapper is outside any qualifying rating bands specified in the conditions of the race, in which case the entry will be invalid (see Rule (F)80.4). For Flat race Handicaps (Maiden Handicaps included) and other Rating Related Flat races, horses must have run three times in Flat races in Great Britain up to and including the Saturday prior to closing to qualify for entry. Horses aged three yrs old or upwards which have run three times in Flat races in Ireland will also be qualified for entry, provided that the Handicapper is prepared to allot a Handicap rating. In addition, subject to the provisions of Rule (F)79.2, horses aged three yrs old or upwards which are trained in Great Britain and which have run three times in Flat races, each run under the Rules of Racing of a recognised Racing Authority, will also be qualified for entry, provided that the Handicapper is prepared to allot a Handicap Rating. Furthermore, subject to the provisions of Rule (F)79.3, horses aged three years old or upwards which are trained outside Great Britain and which have run at least three times in Flat races run under the Rules of Racing of a recognised Racing Authority will be qualified for entry if they have also previously run in a Flat race Handicap in Great Britain, provided that the Handicapper is prepared to allot a Handicap rating or, if they have not run in such a race, have run three times in Flat races each run under the Rules of Racing of a recognised Racing Authority, provided that the Handicapper is prepared to allot a Handicap rating of 90 or more. For Classified Stakes Flat races or Flat race Handicaps, other than Heritage Handicaps, Handicaps with a Total Prize Fund of £30,000 or more, and Nursery Handicaps, horses which, up to and including the Saturday prior to closing, have run once or twice in Flat races in Great Britain including a win in such a race, will also be qualified to enter, provided that the Handicapper is prepared to allot a Handicap rating. The Handicapper may decline to allot a rating for a horse entered in a Handicap, Rating Related Maiden race or Classified Stakes race if, in his opinion, he does not have sufficient information upon which to allot a rating, in which case the entry will be invalid (see Rule (F)80.4). Exact Handicap ratings will be published for horses rated 45 or below. However, horses rated below 46 which are entered in a Flat race Handicap shall be allocated a weight which corresponds with a Handicap rating of 45. In such races, those horses with the same weight which have a Handicap rating of 45 or below shall be published in descending rating order, with the order for those horses with the same rating being determined by random balloting. Elimination sequences allotted under the terms of Rule (F)102 and Rule (F)103 and Schedule (F)8 of the Rules of Racing for those horses rated below 46 will, where the criteria includes reference to Handicap ratings, be calculated to take account of the exact Handicap rating. Full details of the qualification criteria are contained in the relevant Rules of the British Horseracing Authority referred to in the above summaries, which are published for guidance only. The handicap rating shown below is based on races run up to and including the Saturday before publication. The list of qualifying Handicap Ratings will be published on the Official Handicap Ratings area of the British Horseracing Authority Racing Administration Service Internet Site, which is updated weekly, each Tuesday morning. These ratings will apply for qualification for Flat race Handicaps and other Rating Related Flat races closing on the Tuesday of publication through to the following Monday. Weekly amendments to these qualifying ratings will also be published, for information, on the Racing Bulletin area of the Racing Administration Internet site. Lists of qualifying ratings will no longer be published in The Racing Calendar. The following ratings are published for guidance to Trainers when making entries for Rating Related Flat races. They do not necessarily reflect the ultimate relativity between horses when the weights are allocated in Handicap races. 2 THE RACING CALENDAR FEBRUARY 8th 2018 .......................................................................................................................................................................................................
