Please RSVP to [email protected]. Rep. Colin Allred was elected to Congress in 2018 to represent the 32nd Congressional District of Texas. Prior to coming to Congress, Allred was a linebacker in the NFL for five seasons before becoming a civil rights attorney where he served in the General Counsel’s office at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Rep. Allred serves on the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure, Foreign Affairs, and Veterans’ Affairs Committees. Allred is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and the New Democrat Coalition. Rep. Veronica Escobar was elected to Congress in 2018 to represent the 16th Congressional District of Texas, becoming the first Latina ever to represent this district. Prior to coming to Congress, Escobar served as a County Commissioner, County Judge, an English Teacher at the University of Texas, a Communications Director for a former mayor, and as the Executive Director of Community Scholars, a non-profit. Rep. Escobar serves on the U.S. House Armed Services and Judiciary Committees. Escobar is a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the New Democrat Coalition, and the Democratic Women’s Working Group. Rep. Lizzie Fletcher was elected to Congress in 2018 to represent the 7th Congressional District of Texas, which is in the greater Houston area. Prior to coming to Congress, Fletcher served as a lawyer at an international law firm as well as at a boutique litigation firm, where she became its first woman partner. Between undergraduate and law school Fletcher worked in the business and non-profit sectors. Rep. Fletcher serves on the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure and Science, Space, and Technology Committees. Fletcher is also a member of the New Democrat Coalition. Rep. Sylvia Garcia was elected to Congress in 2018 to represent the 29th Congressional District of Texas, becoming the first Latina ever to represent this district. Prior to coming to Congress, Garcia most recently served as a State Senator, before that Garcia served as City Controller, chief financial officer, and was elected to the Harris County Commissioner's Court. In her early professional career, Garcia worked as a social worker, legal aid lawyer, and Director and Presiding Judge of the Houston Municipal System. Rep. Garcia serves on the U.S. House Financial Services and Judiciary Committees. Garcia also serves on multiple caucuses. .
