Griffin Hall (GRIF) Third Floor Building Text Description Building Location: Griffin Hall (GRIF) is located at the southeast corner of 173rd St. and Wicker Ave. Entrances: There are five (5) entrances into the GRIF. All of them are located on the ground floor. To access the third floor of GRIF there are two (2) elevators and three (3) stairways that lead onto this floor. Elevators: There are two (2) elevators in GRIF, located side by side off of the main hallway, towards the south hallway. • The North Elevator (3E02) is located off of the main hallway towards the south hallway and just to the north of the second elevator. • The South Elevator (3E01) is located off of the main hallway towards the south hallway and just to the south of the first elevator. Stairs: There are three (3) stairways in GRIF. • The North Stairway (3S02) is located off of the main hallway on the northeast wall. There is a single door entrance into the stairs, which opens into the stairway. • The South Stairway (3S01) is located at the end of the south hallway, through a single door entrance which opens into the stairway. • The East Stairway (3S03) is located at the end of the east hallway, through a single door entrance which opens into the stairway. Restrooms: There are no public restrooms on the third floor of GRIF. Building layout (hallways & open areas): There are three (3) hallways on the third floor of GRIF. • The Main Hallway (3H02) is located in the northwest corner of the building, and is mostly open area. It connects to the east hallway and the south hallway. There are double doors separating the main hallway from both the east hallway and the west hallway. These doors open in both directions. • The South Hallway (3H01) runs north to south, connecting with the main hallway and the south stairway. The double doors separating the south hallway from the main hallway open in both directions. The single door separating the south stairway from the hallway opens into the stairway. • The East Hallway (3H03) runs east to west, connecting with the main hallway and the east stairway. The double doors separating the hallway from the main hallway open in both directions. The single door separating the east hallway and the east stairway opens into the stairway. Room Locations: • Rooms 334 – 343 are located off of the main hallway in ascending order going clockwise, starting in the northwest corner. • Rooms 345 and 346 are located off of the main hallway near the east hallway. • The Meeting Room is 334, located off of the main hallway, with two entrances, both double doors opening into the hallway. The meeting room is also accessed by room 335, which has its own entrance into the hallway by a single door. • The Study Room is 343, located off of the main hallway, with one door opening into the room. • The Laundry room is 342, located off of the main hallway near the south hallway entrance. • The Vending is 345, located off of the main hallway near the east hallway entrance. Suites: All suites include either four (4) bedrooms, two (2) restrooms, two (2) sink areas, and one common area, or two (2) bedrooms, one restroom, one sink area, and one common area. • Suites 300 – 309 are located off of the south hallway in ascending order, north to south. • Suites 310- 324 are located off of the east hallway in ascending order, west to east. .
