This is a new Black Trap mining lease, located at Survey No- 106/2, 106/3, 107/1, 110/2 (New Sr. No. 242, 246, 247, 194), Village: Sathamba, Taluka: Bayad, District: Arvalli. As per notification of state government this project is new mining lease falls in 'B2' category. After the excavation of Black Trap from the mine the mineral is crushed in the crushing plant near the mine area. (ii) Location (map showing general location, specific location, and project boundary & project site layout) with coordinates. Area is located at Survey No.- 106/2, 106/3, 107/1, 110/2 (New Sr. No. 242, 246, 247, 194), Village: Sathamba, Taluka: Bayad, District: Arvalli. And it is well connected with nearest pucca road is Sathamba Road within 500 m. The approachable way from Gandhinagar is Gandhinagar – Ahmedabad – Arvalli - Sathamba. Lease area is Private Land and no forest land involves in the mining area. The Total lease area is 2.99.47 Hectares. Co-ordinate of the Lease: Sr. No. Latitude Longitude 1 23°10'25.57"N 73°20'25.21"E 2 23°10'25.61"N 73°20'29.48"E 3 23°10'20.99"N 73°20'29.73"E 4 23°10'20.87"N 73°20'27.27"E 5 23°10'18.37"N 73°20'28.19"E 6 23°10'17.94"N 73°20'25.55"E 7 23°10'20.22"N 73°20'25.43"E 8 23°10'20.28"N 73°20'23.65"E 9 23°10'21.50"N 73°20'23.64"E 10 23°10'21.55"N 73°20'24.61"E Page | 12 (iii) Details of alternate sites considered and the basis of selecting the proposed site, particularly the environmental considerations gone into should be highlighted. This is a mining project, which is site specific due to availability of mineral hence the site cannot be shifted. (iv) Size or magnitude of operation. The targeted production of Black Trap is 1,80,000 MTPA. (v) Project description with process details (a schematic diagram/flow chart showing the project layout, components of the project etc. should be given). Thorny bushes will be removed. Top soil should be removed and stored at boundary of the Mines. Remaining soil will be dig out and stored at the Mines site for refilling at the closer time. Weathered rock will be removed. Weathered rock shall be sell-out which is used for soling of road preparation otherwise stored at Mines site for refilling at the time of Mines closer. Fresh rock will be excavated by using controlled blast. Drill the holes and fill the blast material. Blast material will be used in small quantity depends on tensile strength of the rock, it will be utilized in small quantity in more numbers with delay time in series than one big size blast to reduce effect of Noise and Vibration. Separated boulder/stones will be collected with help of forklift and transported by truck/ tractors to crusher plant, where boulder/ stones will be crushed in required size and sell to market. Fine sand type particles will be sold to road surfacing vendors. All around the excavated quarry pit the Proper wire fencing is required to avoid falling of kids, cattle etc. The excavation slope/berm will be maintained properly to avoid landslide or rock slope failure. Prior to start of work every day spray/sprinkle of water on transportation route as well as at crusher plant will be carried out to avoid air/dust emission. Regular servicing of equipments/machineries will be carried-out to reduce Noise level. (vi) Raw material required along with estimated quantity, likely source, marketing area of final product/s, Mode of transport of raw Material and Finished Products. The area under reference has been used for extraction of Black Trap by opencast semi-mechanized mining method. Mechanical loader is proposed for fast removal of overburden, loading the mineral and waste and for construction of haul roads. The blasting is needed to excavate the mineral and waste. The stone is exploited from the quarries and many a times crushed at the site for getting necessary size. The stone is treated as minor minerals. The operations of the quarries include blasting. Page | 13 (vii) Resource optimization/recycling and reuse envisaged in the project, if any, should be briefly outlined. Minerals are depleting asset once mined; they cannot be replenished like agriculture, vegetation thus a scientific approach will be taken up in exploitation of mineral with systematic method. (viii) Availability of water its source, Energy/power requirement and source should be given. The water required at the mine for drinking and domestic purpose is being obtained from a tube well located outside the lease area. The water for other purpose will be obtained from sump developed in mine. Water balance Chart: Water balance chart on per day basis as under:- Water (9.0 KLD) 2.0 KLD 7.0 KLD (Tube well) (From Mine Sump) 1. Drinking purpose 1. Green belt development 2. Dust suppression (ix) Quantity of wastes to be generated (liquid and solid) and scheme for their Management/disposal. In this area 2-3 m OB is available and after that up to 15 m proved Black Trap is available. And its recovery factor is 70%. So the waste generates and excavated OB is dumped in the area as per proposed mining plan. (x) Schematic representations of the feasibility drawing which give information of EIA purpose. As per the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) notification dated 14th December 2013 the minor mineral mining projects will be appraised as category ‘B2’ projects. And as per the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) notification dated 14th September 2006. The EIA report is required to get environmental clearance for the project from the state level expert appraisal committee. Page | 14 4. SITE ANALYSIS: (i) Connectivity: Area is located at Survey No- 106/2, 106/3, 107/1, 110/2 (New Sr. No. 242, 246, 247, 194), Village: Sathamba, Taluka: Bayad, District: Arvalli is well connected with nearest pucca road is Sathamba Road within 500 m. The approachable way from Gandhinagar is Gandhinagar – Ahmedabad – Arvalli - Sathamba. Limited private Bus Services are available up to Sathamba. The area can be approached by own vehicles from Sathamba. (ii) Land Form, Land use and Land ownership. Lease area is Private Land and no forest land involves in the mining area.
