In the case of scooter tires, a gradual increase in the number of full depth sipes as the vehicle leans into a corner allows the tire to break through the surface fi lm of water until the tire is worn. WET GRIP Patented sipes and integrated water reservoirs allow the MICHELIN XST X-Sipe Technology to deliver exceptional grip on wet roads. XST+ technology includes transverse sipes to + improve wet braking and chamfers added to the sipe edges X SIPE TECHNOLOGY + to help prevent abnormal wear in extreme conditions. The transverse sipes allow the front tire to break the water fi lm and ensure outstanding braking in wet weather. LONGEVITY + WET GRIP MICHELIN’s XST and XST+ X-Sipe Technology is designed to evacuate water effi ciently. However as the tire tread becomes worn, the ability to disperse water is naturally reduced. MICHELIN XST Evo siping technology is based on Michelin’s proven Evergrip™ tire tread design for automobiles. As the tire wears, the XST Evo siping grooves widen to allow increased water displacement. DURABILITY + LONGEVITY + WET GRIP MICHELIN DUAL COMPOUND TECHNOLOGY Successfully accomplishes two confl icting ideals: wear resistance in the center of the tread, and grip on the shoulders. LONGEVITY + GRIP Harder rubber underneath the softer rubber on the shoulders gives better rigidity at lean, for more stability when cornering, especially under strong acceleration. STABILITY + LONGEVITY + GRIP MICHELIN DUAL ANGLE TECHNOLOGY A revolutionary new architecture for motorcycle tires, which provides the necessary strength & stability for heavier bikes – solo, 2-up or with luggage – AND comfort for long journeys. 2AT exceptionally combines elements of both radial and bias construction, providing the best compromise: Bias for its ability to withstand extra weight and Radial for the pleasure of riding. STABILITY + COMFORT 5 MICHELIN ADAPTIVE CASING TECHNOLOGY+ A single ply with an angle close to 90° is used to reduce the carcass’ maximum rigidity in the crown area. Rigidity in the sidewall and shoulder areas are maintained through the use of high angle, overlapping cross plies. The soft top ply provides added straight line stability while the rigid sidewalls and shoulders help minimize drifting in curves. HANDLING + STABILITY MICHELIN COMFORT CASING TECHNOLOGY Featured in select MICHELIN off-road tires, the casing absorbs square edges and braking bumps better, and minimizes tire rebound, which helps reduce arm pump and rider fatigue. COMFORT + CONTROL MICHELIN ADT: AMPLIFIED DENSITY TECHNOLOGY A highly dense, more rigid tire casing, which helps deliver excellent feedback and handling. Aramid tread plies on the rear tire resist centrifugal growth, reduce weight and provide excellent stability. HANDLING MICHELIN SRT: SILICA RAIN TECHNOLOGY Silica Rain Technology improves grip in cooler temperatures and on wet roads, without compromising tread life. WET AND COLD GRIP MICHELIN SCT: SYNTHETIC COMPONENT TECHNOLOGY MICHELIN racing synthetic elastomers used in rubber compounds in conjunction with high tech synthetic compound resins promote ultra-fast warm up to optimum operational temperatures.
