Certain focused estates have been developed for Food & Agro based industries, Textiles & Garments, Gems & Jewelry, Steel & Allied Industries, Information Technology etc. In line with the above, the state government has also launched a Scheme of Approved Industrial Park (SAIP) to ensure that adequate land, free from all impediments, is available for investments. The efforts of the state government in setting up such parks is largely channelized through following government departments- • West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation Limited (WBIDC) • West Bengal Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBIIDC) • West Bengal Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (WBSIDC) • Department of MSME and Textiles • Department of Food Processing Industries and Horticulture • West Bengal Biotech Development Corporation (WBBDC) • Department of Information Technology & Electronics These strong enablers along with investment friendly policies from the government would open up endless opportunities.
