Facilities Anticipate possible design in 2021 subject to GN funding approval Solid Waste Facilities • RFP for Design Services – Spring 2020 • Arviat, Rankin Inlet, Kimmirut, Whale Cove, Sanikiluaq, Hall Beach, Igloolik • Total Budget – $146m across approx. 6 - 10 communities * New Building Canada Fund – Infrastructure Canada CGS Projects in Planning Water / Wastewater Facilities • RFP for Design Build Cape Dorset – Spring 2020 • Mechanical Wastewater Treatment Plant • RFP Design Services Rankin Inlet – Spring 2020 • $7m Utilidor Replacement * New Building Canada Fund – Infrastructure Canada • Planning for various communities underway for Water and Wastewater Treatment Infrastructure • Budget of approximately – $150 to $200m (ICIP / NBCF / GTF) CGS Projects in Planning Bulk Fuel Storage Infrastructure • Planning for Arviat facility expansion • Planning for Coral Harbour facility replacement • Design/Construction of various communities to address code upgrades – $15m+ CGS Projects in Planning Telecomunications Infrastructure • RFP for Design Build of new fibre optic submarine system – Fall 2020 • Connect Iqaluit/Kimmirut to mainland North America • Federal funding approved for $200m+ project CGS Projects in Planning GN PROCUREMENT Centralized Procurement Delivery for all Construction related RFTs and RFPs (except NHC & QEC) • ~ $540m – over 2,500 contracts (17/18) • Staff compliment of ~ 20 in CGS • E-Based Tender Procurement Site • Support from GN Justice Contract Law Staff • GN Standardized Construction Documents NUNAVUT’S BUSINESS INCENTIVE POLICY Nunavummi Nangminiqaqtunik Ikajuuti (NNI) Regulations Promotes: • Doing business with Inuit Owned Partners and Inuit owned companies (Maximum 15%) • Doing business with Nunavut owned and operated companies (Maximum 5%) • Doing Business with Locally owned and operated companies, local to where the work is being done (Maximum 5%) • Employing Inuit • Training and advancement for Inuit NUNAVUT’S BUSINESS INCENTIVE POLICY Bid Adjustments • As a reward for doing business with Inuit Owned, Nunavut Based Local companies and employing Inuit labour, Contractors can receive “Bid Adjustments” • Bid adjustments may be awarded up to 25% • For example, if a company receives Bid Adjustments of 15%, the value of their bid is evaluated with a 15% discount. ($1,000,000 is evaluated as $850,000).
