WINGS 2019-2020: Who Do You Say That I Am? Fall 2019: Who Is Jesus to Us? Reflections on Mark 8: 27-30 WINGS (Women in God’s Spirit) is a faith enrichment group that encourages women to grow in their faith and become aware of their unique spiritual gifts so as to benefit the wider community. WINGS offers an opportunity for women of all ages to gather for speaker presentations and to develop friendships through discussion and prayer. We welcome all women to join us! October 16, Tour of Nativity Preparatory School, Jamaica Plain We will meet at St. Joseph Church at 9:45 am to carpool into Boston for a 10:30 am tour. October 23, Jesus, Source of Wisdom for Living in This World --Karl Jackson Director of Mission and Formation at St. Monica and St. Lucy parishes in Methuen, Karl Jackson, who gave a wonderful talk to us last fall, is returning to speak about how we can draw on Jesus’ wisdom in our everyday lives. *Meeting at First Baptist Church October 30, Rabboni: Jesus Through the Eyes of Mary Magdalene --Fr. Peter Stamm St. Joseph’s parochial vicar Fr. Stamm will reflect on the friendship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene and what it can teach us about our own friendship with Jesus. *Meeting at First Baptist Church November 6, Morning of Lectio Divina on Mark 8:27-30 In the middle of our season, we will take a morning to reflect on the Scripture passage that has inspired our theme this year, in which Jesus asks, “Who Do You Say That I Am?” and Peter responds “You are the Messiah.” The lectio divina will include meditation on this scripture passage and prayer. *Meeting at First Baptist Church November 13, Jesus the Messiah, His Divine Purpose in Our Lives --Liz Cotrupi Director of Family Life and Ecclesial Movements for the Archdiocese of Boston, Liz Cotrupi will speak about how believing in Jesus as our Messiah changes our lives. *Meeting in the Linse Room, St. Joseph Church November 20, Jesus Our Friend: To Whom Should I Turn? --Sue Muldoon Author with her husband Tim of three books on Catholic parenting, Sue Muldoon will share her insights on how turning to Jesus and deepening our friendship with him can make all the difference in our lives. *Meeting in the Linse Room, St. Joseph Church *Due to the construction project at St. Joseph Church, we will meet at First Baptist Church for the first three weeks of our speaker season. First Baptist Church is located at 858 Great Plain Ave (across from the YMCA) in Needham. Please enter the church through the church office door on Warren Street. Parking is available in the church parking lot or on the street. WINGS meets Wednesday mornings, 9:45-11:30 am. .
