Dear friends, This weekend we finally begin the “public phase” of REBUILD, REFRESH, RENEW --- the fund-raising campaign that will pay for the renovation of our church interior, as well as provide total handicap accessibility, resealed and well-lit parking lots, better outside hospitality spaces, improved school technology and office and security provisions … plus a significant alms for the poor. This is a major historic event at St. Margaret Mary’s that will provide spaces for a vibrant Catholic presence here for decades. Some have already been contacted. If you were contacted earlier, it was because you had exhibited some major financial generosity to the parish in the past … or because computer search engines from the fundraising consultants (CSS) identified you as a person with a big house or business or significant wealth. Most responded generously. Some didn’t --- either because our contact information was inaccurate or they just felt they needed to hold on to their money. But today the campaign opens to everybody. I hope you give a respectful listen to what’s presented, and respond with a sacrificial pledge. If you’re a person who has been abundantly blessed in the wealth department, you really ought to consider giving well above what’s asked. If you have trouble making ends meet, you needn’t feel ashamed of giving a widow’s mite, since God honors sacrifice in all forms if it’s really a sacrifice. Peace, All Good! Fr. Mike PS In the weeks leading up to Christmas we shall be hosting REBUILD REFRESH RENEW phonathons. Volunteers are needed (with your cell phone) for December 5, 7, 11, 13, and 21. If you are available for any of these dates please come to the parish office at 5:30 pm for an orientation, pizza and fun!
