I hope that you have an incredible time here in D.C., learning new things, hearing new repertoire, making new friends—and of course, hanging out with your old flute buddies! Zart Dombourian-Eby There are hundreds of people who have worked hand in hand with Joanna and Jan to make the convention happen—thanks to every single one of you. Our staff of Kelly Jocius, Kris Mayo, Vicky Pampe, Claire Lombardo, Anne Welsbacher, and Brian Covington has been the glue that has kept everything together throughout the year, capped off by this glorious gathering. We are eternally in their debt. I encourage you to experience as much of the convention offerings as humanly possible—from the Opening Ceremonies with the Capital City Flute Orchestra to the Myrna Brown Dine-Around dinner on Thursday to master- classes, concerts, flute choirs, and workshops and finishing with the Closing Concert and Ceremonies on Sunday afternoon, where you’ll be dazzled by the U.S. Army Field Band, NFA Professional Flute Choir, and International Superflutes Collective. Of course, no convention visit would be complete without spending many blissful hours in the Exhibit Hall experiencing first hand the world’s largest collection of flutes, flute music, and flute merchandise, brought to you by our wonderful Commercial Members. Please let them know your appreciation for helping to make the NFA convention the “greatest flute show on earth!” Yours, Zart Dombourian-Eby NFA President 43RD ANNUAL NATIONAL FLUTE ASSOCIATION CONVENTION, WASHINGTON D.C., 2015 11 nfaonline.org WisemanWiseman FFlutelute CaseCases Compact.
