THE OREGON DUCK Tryouts: Tryouts will be held at the beginning of spring term -- weeks 2 and 3. If interested in tryouts, please email [email protected] with completed tryout form attached and any questions you have. Minimum Tryout Requirements: • Must be admitted full-time (min. 12 credits) to the University of Oregon before auditions begin. • High School Students 3.0 minimum accumulative G.P.A. • College students 2.5 minimum accumulative G.P.A. Incentives for Being the Duck: • Cheering for the Ducks at Autzen Stadium, Matthew Knight Arena, and PK Park • Apparel: game uniforms, warm‐ups, athletic training gear, shoes, bags, jackets. • Access to Academic Services at John E. Jaqua Services or Student Athletes Center: academic advisors, tutors, career counseling, computer centers, study hall. • Access to Athletic Medicine Treatment Facility: trainers, doctors, surgeons • Access to Sports Nutritionists as well as nutrition bar for pre/post workout recovery • Access to Strength and Conditioning programs and coaches and world class facilities • Two home football tickets for family members--rookies receive 3 games, veterans receive tickets to every game. • All travel paid, including per diem for travelers • Possible travel opportunities to Post Season football and basketball games. (Championships, Bowl games, NCAAs) • Head Duck receives stipend (Maximum=$2,000 per term, Min=$500 per term) • All squad members must attend all assigned athletic games (Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball) • All squad members are required to attend various appearances throughout the season. • All squad members must attend all scheduled practices • Athletic Code of Conduct must be signed and followed. • Must maintain 2.5 accumulative GPA. Time Commitments Summer: • Members report for training camp 2nd week of August. • Members must be living in Eugene by first day of training camp. • Members must attend every practice scheduled prior to first football game. Fall: • Members must attend all practices (3-4 days/week) as well as all strength and conditioning times (3 days/week). • Members must attend all assigned home/away football and volleyball games. • Members must attend all assigned appearances. Winter: • Members must attend select Men’s and Women’s Basketball games. • Local squad members (originally from Oregon) must cover all Winter Break games. • Members must attend all practices (2 days/week) and all strength and conditioning (3 days/week). Spring: o Members must sign up for various appearances and events. o Members must attend assigned baseball and softball games. o Members must attend and participate in tryout process in April. .
