This handbook has been developed to provide you with information that is commonly needed by parents of children in elementary school. This handbook will not contain answers to all questions, but you are encouraged to call the school at 305-235-1412 with any questions that are not answered here. Please read this handbook carefully and keep it for future reference. Additional communications will be sent from the school throughout the school year. Dalby, Principal 7 MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT’S UNIVERSAL PARENT/STUDENT HANDBOOK Howard Drive Elementary School Howard Drive Elementary is a pre-kindergarten through grade five school built in 1961 and located at 7750 SW 136 Street in Miami, Florida. Howard Drive Elementary School is in the Miami Palmetto Senior High School feeder pattern. Howard Drive Elementary has a family atmosphere with an active Parent Teacher Association. It has an array of programs available for students that meet criteria which include Cambridge International Primary Program, full time Gifted, Special Education, Extended Foreign Language (EFL) K-2ND grade, English Language Learn (ELL), Before and after school care is available, please contact the aftercare office for additional information. Selected students and grade level may participate in Music Club, Running Club, Category 5 Dance spirit Squad, History/Geography Club, Coding Club, Gardening Club, Spanish Club, Violin Club, Guitar Club, and Yoga Club. Additional extracurricular activities include, Student Council/Youth Crime Watch, Future Educators of America, 5000 Role Model, Math and Science. Howard Drive has an active PTA and many community partners that assist the school in a variety of ways by rewarding students for outstanding achievements, donating time and service as well as providing snacks, programs, and awards for the school.
