The Machina Trilogy Distribution Plan 2020

THE MACHINA TRILOGY - DISTRIBUTION PROPOSAL THE MACHINA TRILOGY Prepared for: Robin Smith, Director Prepared by: Amy Banks, Producer 5 April 2020 Proposal number: 000-001 THE MACHINA TRILOGY - DISTRIBUTION PROPOSAL EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Objective Distribute the feature documentary The Machina Trilogy by Robin Smith via a variety of platforms including; Film Festivals, Screenings in both independent and chain cinemas and securing a distribution world rights deal either online or through a commissioning deal with an online distributor. Goals 1. To be included in at least 5 film festivals both in and out of competition to build an audience and a high success rate for future deals with cinemas and distributors. 2. Achieve 5 sell out screenings at Independent UK cinemas with an average seating of 200 - 250 or alternatively sign a deal with a cinema chain with a longevity of securing a post distribution deal. 3. Secure a distribution deal for DVD and digital download or through an online streaming service - Film Markets will be invaluable in this area. 4. Secure a commissioning deal for future original documentary films including Parts 2 & 3 of Machina. Solution Distribute the feature documentary The Machina Trilogy to the UK and International film market. Project Outline In order to have a successful run of the feature documentary The Machina Trilogy we must take advantage of the USP of a technology informative documentary that has been created and entice new audiences to explore this niche area to further help the development process of Part 2 & 3 of the documentary trilogy and open the market up to technology informative documentaries. An IMDB Listing will be created based on the credits of the feature documentary in addition to a visual treatment, look book and trailer for use as a marketing tool. • Relevant Film Festivals and Documentary Festivals will be entered into with the desire to screen worldwide, achieve recognition, accolades and be considered or succeed in obtaining cash prizes for the film. • Independent screenings across the UK will be contacted to screen the film apart of documentary and educational programmes. Further the film will be targeted as an informative documentary with a focus on technology and information. • Create a DCP, screener and marketing materials to use in securing a distribution deal with an independent distributor. (Keep in mind that multiple deals may be done due to territories if the world wide rights are not bought). Alternatively a distribution deal will be done with an online streaming service. • If the feature is successful with any of the above we would look to use the film as a platform to secure a commissioning deal for future documentaries in the UK with a public funder or online streaming service.
