In this symposium, everyone will have the opportunity to communicate with others from all over the world. Global aging of the population has brought both opportunities and challenges. Increasing longevity is surely good news for everyone, while it’s also followed by lots of social, economic and cultural challenges to individuals, families, and even the global community, especially the Pacific Rim where ageing population grows rapidly. As for China, with the largest population size in the world and about 210 million people over 60-year-old by 2015, challenges are around the corner. To deal with them, it’s necessary to expand and regulate elderly care services.
