Speaker 5: Steamboat Willie debuts Walt Disney’s two new Characters Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Speaker 6: It established Walt Disney Studios as an innovator in motion pictures and animation. Speaker 4: In 1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was to be the first full-length animated feature in motion picture history. Speaker 5: It was a huge success, earning $8 million dollars during its initial release. It held the record of highest-grossing sound film at the time. Speaker 6: At the 11th Academy Awards, Walt Disney was awarded an honorary Oscar for Snow White, and the film was nominated for Best Musical Score. ACT III Announcer Session: Speaker 7: In 1963, Walt Disney Presented what would soon become one of the world’s most cherished movie musicals. Speaker 8: With songs like,” I love to laugh, feed the birds, A spoon full of sugar, and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. “ Speaker 9: And stars like Ed Wynn, Dick Van Dyke, and the brand new Julie Andrews. Speaker 7: We entered a world of singing penguins, Speaker 8: Dancing Chimney sweeps. Speaker 9: From the roof tops of London, It was All: Mary Poppins! Chim Chim Cher-ee Chim chiminey, chim chiminey, chim chim cheree. A sweep is as lucky, as lucky can be. Chim chiminey, chim chiminey, chim chim cheroo. Whoo! ACT IV Announcer Session: Speaker 10: Disney Movies have become part of our lives. Speaker 11: When Disney Studios produced “Lion King” and “Toy story” we couldn’t wait to get to the theater for a front row seat! Speaker 12: The stories taught us about friendship and family, but the music was the best. Speaker 10: Every little girl in America could sing along with Pocahontas. Speaker 11: And Every little Boy Dreamed of “Going to infinity and beyond”! Speaker 12: Even the villains were fun and entertaining to sing about, like Cruella Deville in 101 Dalmatians. All: Just thinking about her send chills up our spines! I Just Can’t Wait to be King Simba: I’m gonna be a mighty king, so enemies beware! Zazoo: Well, I’ve never seen a king of beasts with quite so little hair. Simba: I’m gonna be the mane event, like no king was before. I’m brushing up on looking down. I’m working on my roar! Zazoo: Thus far, a rather uninspiring thing. Oh, I just can’t wait to be king Everybody look left, everybody look right. Every where you look, I’m standing in the spot light. Zazoo: NOT YET! Let every creature go for broke and sing. Let’s hear it in the herd and on the wing. Simba and Zazoo: It’s gonna be King Simba’s finest fling.
