Closings and Delays Inclement Weather The Charlton School is always OPEN and our Residential program is staffed 24/7 In the event of inclement weather, the Education program may be effected We take the lead of the public school district that our campus is located in and follow Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake CSD when it comes to operating the Education program in inclement weather Generally if BHBL CSD has any delay or is closed due to weather we operate on a 1 hour delay to give faculty extra time to safely commute to campus Our facilities are all supported with backup generators so this does not apply when neighboring districts adjust their schedule for power outages Day Students are expected to follow their home district and report as transportation allows. If their home district is closed and transportation is not available, or has a longer delay the student is excused from classes missed and will be able to makeup work with no penalty In an effort to keep our families best informed we have joined the School Closings Network and will announce all delays using this system, setup and maintained by the local news networks.
