A musical examination focuses on recognition of domesticated and undomesticated sounds, ideologies, networking senses and physical entities. Each sound identifies itself, through varied behaviours. Noijzu is a Swiss electroacoustic unit, formed in late 2017 by Luis Sanz and Urs Heer. Noijzu began as a noise duo, using voice, guitar, objects and drums, within this setup Noijzu released two albums and participated in three compilations. By late 2018 the Chinese clarinetist Shuyue Zhao, resident in Bern, Switzerland, becomes part of the group. The new duo by Zhao and Sanz focuses on acoustic and computer-generated sonic entities. Noijzu blends the bass clarinet with digital signals to produce contrasting acoustic dynamics, from minimal to extreme confrontational expressions, creating complex and hyperreal textures. Noijzu's sound has been described as "a symphony of fragmented noise". Zhao and Sanz have been experimenting with various artistic approaches to explore and challenge the limit of musical possibilities. Besides interpreting new compositions as a clarinetist, Shuyue Zhao has been active in improvisation since 2012. In 2018 she has expanded her artistic practice from acoustic clarinet improvisation to combinations of amplified clarinet/bassclarinet and feedback-based electronic sounds. Luis Sanz has been working with video and abstract animations since 2010. In 2014 he included sound in his animations and began exploring electronic and computer music as well as extended techniques on turntables. The varied and different backgrounds have enabled them to explore new forms of artistic dialogue. Noijzu has performed across France, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Myanmar, Indonesia, Java, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand. 3 Noijzu, Asia Tour, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, February - March 2020 4 “A guide of Swiss Underground Experimental Music“ Buh Records and The Wire Magazine, October 2019 5 DOCUMENTATION RELEASES 2019 A Guide of Swiss Underground Experimental Music, Double Vinyl, Buh Records, Peru and The Wire Magazine 2019 Atrofia Cerebral [PE] & Noijzu, Split Cassette, Rotova Porojnina Records, Kiev Ukraine 2019 Noijzu, Discordant Seeds, C20, Cruel Bones, Zurich Switzerland 2018 Noijzu, 4 Way Split, CDr , Low Life High Volume, Berlin Germany 2018 Noijzu, El Bien De Ser, C10, Rotova Porojnina Records, Kiev Ukraine SELECTED PERFORMANCES 2020 Le Pneu, Geneva Switzerland 2020 Asia Tour, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Java, Borneo, Singapore, Vietnam 2020 Esoteric Affairs, Raum Station, Zürich 2019 Plein Air à Voltaire Festival, Geneva, Switzerland 2019 Borderline Festival, Atelier Wolimierz, Dolnośląskie, Poland 2019 Nula:Nula, Praha, Czech Republic 2019 w/ Ryosuke Kiyasu, Joel Gilardini, Maxime Hänseberger & Steve Buchanan, Ebrietas, Zurich Switzerland 2019 w/ Purpura, Dave Phillips, Mulo Muto, Svartvit, Umbo, Zurich Switzerland 2018 Adv3nt, Botanischer Garten, Bern Switzerland 2018 w/ Kazehito Seki, ..., Tzii, Radio Rabe, Bern Switzerland 2018 Tour w/ Soft Issues [Leeds, UK], La Maison De L‘enfer, Nancy France 2018 Tour w/ Soft Issues [Leeds, UK], Ebrietas, Zurich Switzerland 2018 Tour w/ Soft Issues [Leeds, UK], LoopHole, Berlin Germany 2018 Tour w/ Soft Issues [Leeds, UK], La Pointe Lafayette, Paris France 2018 Tour w/ Soft Issues [Leeds, UK], Autistic Campaign Festival, Rouen France 2018 w/ Purpura, Luis Alvarado, Duplex Walden, Geneva Switzerland 2018 Defibrylator Festival, Piwiarnia u Bossmana, Ostrów Wielkopolski Poland 2018 w/ Odal [NL], DOM, Łódź Poland 2018 w/ Diego Atucha [AR], Espace d‘exposition, Cinéma Salle Robert Kramer, HEAD Genève Switzerland 6 “Discordant Seeds”, C20, Cruel Bones, Zurich Switzerland, May 2019 7 Asia Tour, Noijzu, Luis Sanz live at Ruang Gulma, Yogyakarta, Java, February 2020 8 “El Bien De Ser”, C10, Rotova Porojnina Records, Kiev Ukraine.
