It is some twenty five kilometers from Mahatma Gandhi’s Sewagram Ashram. In his later life, Vinoba became a proponent of goraksha (save the cow) movement. Vinoba had called the emergency of 1975, imposed by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, an anushashan parwa (a festival of discipline).
