It was founded in the late 1700’s and grew Pitskelly and quickly as a weaving town. Carnoustie became popular as a seaside tourist resort in Victorian times after the railway Barry Mill arrived. Formal golf courses were developed, and Carnoustie remains an important golfing destination to this day. Starting in the town centre, this walk follows Terrace Road which is elevated over the rooftops of Dundee Street. You can take a short walk to the woods around Pitskelly or a longer trip to Barry Mill.
