Please note that it is important that this information is broken down into individual cap badges, not simply given in an overall statistic.” I am treating your correspondence as a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000. A search for the information has now been completed within the Ministry of Defence, and I can confirm that the information in scope of your request is held and can be found in the table below. Please note that data provided is as of 1st April 2019, with Section 44 (Prohibitions on disclosure) applied in order to comply with The Pre-release Access to Official Statistics Order 2008. The military decided to open up all roles to women in a phased approach over three years, starting with the Royal Armoured Corps in November 2016. Since December 2018 women could transfer into the infantry and apply to join the infantry and the Royal Marines. Training courses for new recruits started in spring 2019 and the first will have finished training October/November.
