News Release November 25, 2016 SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation Announcement regarding launch schedule for X-Band Defense Communication Satellite-2 SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & Chief Executive Officer: Shinji Takada; hereinafter referred to as "SKY Perfect JSAT") is issuing this press release to announce the launch schedule for the X-Band Defense Communication Satellite-2 in association with the "Program to Upgrade and Operate X-Band Satellite Communications Functions, etc." (hereinafter referred to as "the Program") for which DSN Corporation (Head Office: Minato Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director: Koki Koyama; hereinafter referred to as "DSN"), a subsidiary of SKY Perfect JSAT, has concluded a program contract with the Ministry of Defense. (Details) 1. Scheduled launch date: January 24 (Tues.), 2017 2. Scheduled launch time: 16:44 to 17:58 (Japan standard time)* 3. Reserve launch period: January 25 (Wed.) to February 28 (Tues.), 2017 4. Launch site: Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) Tanegashima Space Center, Large Rocket Launch Site 5. Launch operator: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. *The scheduled launch time for the reserve launch period will be set individually for each day. End *DSN has contracted the procurement of Satellite-2 for the Program to SKY Perfect JSAT. Satellite-1 was originally scheduled to be launched in July 2016, but was damaged due to an accident which occurred during shipping to the launch site (French Guiana, South America) and is currently being repaired. Currently, the new launch schedule for Satellite-1 is set for March to September of 2018. .
