CONSTRUCTION NOTICE Alberta TrailNet Society Pedestrian Bridges for Meadowlark Trail - Beiseker-Irricana Project Overview This project involves the construction of three water crossings on Alberta TrailNet Society lands between Beiseker and Irricana. It will include the construction of a double culvert directly south of Beiseker and 2 pedestrian bridges, one over the Rosebud River and the other over Crossfield Creek. The crossing sites are numbered sequentially 1 to 3 proceeding from the north to the south as shown on the Key Plan below. These crossings will form part of the Meadowlark Trail which, when developed, will be part of Trans Canada Trail’s ‘The Great Trail’. The bridges are expected to accommodate pedestrians, cyclists, cross country skiers and light maintenance vehicles. Construction Access/Deliveries Construction equipment, truck deliveries, etc. will access the Beacon Heights Road for crossing # 1 near Beiseker and for crossing # 2 and 3 between Beiseker and Irricana, will access Township Road 274, Range Road 262, Range Road 263 and other tributaries due to the constricted access to these project sites. There may be some noise, traffic interruptions along the access route and adjacent routes to the working area. Schedule Construction is scheduled to begin in Mid-October 2019 and is expected to be completed by Mid- December 2019, weather permitting. Typical hours of operation will be from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Saturday. If required, these hours may be extended, and construction may occur on Sundays from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Traffic accommodation The crossing locations, including all Alberta TrailNet lands between Beiseker and Irricana, will be affected from time to time and will remain closed to the public. Approved signage will be in place for the duration. Every effort will be made to keep disruptions to a minimum. Safety The construction areas are restricted areas for the Public. We will take every precaution to ensure public safety and will also need your assistance in keeping children and pets a safe distance from the construction site and equipment. Please also ensure the immediate removal of any privately- owned cross fencing, gates, animals or other materials.
