Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa set off on their epic journey in 1953. Landscape with verities wildlife, and vegetation, panoramic view of snow caped peak. Magnificent views of Mt. Everest (8848m), Makalu (8,463m), Cho Oyo (8153m), Lhotse. 7 to 8 hours bus drive from Kathmandu to Jiri. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jiri Everest Base Camp Trek Suggested Itinerary -19 Days Day: Upon arrival at international airport, our waiting support team will meet and greet you at the airport assist and transfer to the Hotel. Day: Trekking preparation and permit organize day. Please, check your insurance details and have a copy of your travel medical insurance policy with you. Day 01: Drive Kathmandu to Bhandar (2375 m) via Jiri (2,370m) by local bus/Car/Van -9 to 10 hours We leave Kathmandu early in the morning to Bhandar through the classical Everest starting point Jiri by local Bus or private Car/van through Araniko Highway, which goes towards the Chinese border. With many ups and down through the beautiful Nepalese countryside it is an excellent drive. Explore the surrounding area of Jiri, located in hill town station, and stay overnight at the hotel. After crossing the suspension bridge the winding path leads us to a small nice village at Kinja. After having lunch, a slow long uphill climb continues, passing through numerous farm houses and terraced fields with great excellent views of the surrounding landscapes and finally reaching Sete - a small Sherpa village situated on the ridge in the middle of the rhododendron and pine woodland. Day 03: Sete to Lamjura pass (3,530m) to Junbesi (2,680m) – 6 to 7 hours We walk to a gradual climb, passing through a few small scattered farm houses and teahouses through the beautiful rhododendron forest reaching at Lamjura Pass, which is the highest point between Jiri and Namche Bazaar. Then the trail descends through the forest and emerges after one and half hours at Taktor. On the north side of the valley round to the Sherpa village Junbasi. Take it easy after long day walk and stay overnight. Day 04: Rest day at Junbesi (2,680m) The region around Junbesi is worth exploring and a day spent here can offer a variety of alternatives; the way to Sherpa art center village Phugmochhe a short diversion will allow a visit to Thubten Choling; a huge Tibetan Buddhist monastery about one and half hour's walk from Junbesi. Otherwise we can relax the whole day exploring Sherpa culture. Stay overnight in the Lodge. Day 05: Junbesi to Nunthala (2,330m) – 5 to 6 hours The trail crosses the Junbesi Khola, Just beyond the bridge there is a trail junction. The route to Khumbu follows the left-hand trail that leads uphill and turns north to Salung. Where, Mt. Everest can be seen first time on a clear day towards north east. Day 06: Nunthala to Bupsadanda (2300m) - 5 to 6 hours After breakfast the trail leads you down and continues to the Dudhkoshi River Bridge (1510m, the lowest place during the trekking). Here the trail winds through terraced fields and yards of houses. The trail continues through forests then climbs up upon the terraces to reach the Rai village of Jubing. The path will take us slowly around a ridge to the village of Khari Khola from where we must push on up the steep hill to Bupsa. Day 07 Bupsadanda to Surkhe (2,290m) - 4 to 5 hours The trek ascends from Bupsa and head on to Bhumsing village around the thick forest then continues to the north side of the valley to reach Puiyan village. After Puiyan, the trail leads us on the long winding trail with few small ups and downs to small settlement Surkhe village. Day 08: Surkhe to Phakding (2,610m) - 4 to 5 hours We start to climb to north to Chaurikharka, a large scattered village with a monastery and a high school. It is known as the bread basket of the Khumbu area because the land is very fertile for barley, wheat and enough green vegetables. Today we can see many trekkers from Lukla and coming back from Everest Base Camp. From here the path is quite busy with trekkers, porters, and pack animals. Additionally there are a few hours of good scenic walk which will bring us to Phakding where we will stay overnight. You can see excellent views of Thamserku peak from here. The trail climbs to Chomoa, the site of an agricultural project farm. Then the trail climbs to Monju (2,840m) and enters the Sagarmatha National Park Area (1,148 sq km, established in 1976). Walking some distance up you will be at Jorsale (2830m) and after crossing the last (fifth) bridge, there is another long climb from where you can have a view of Mt. Everest, over the right Nupste (7,879m). After 5 to 6 hrs walking the trail reaches the street of Namche Bazaar at last. Stay overnight in Namche Bazaar and witness the snow capped mountains and Sherpa heritage. Day 10: Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar and visit Khumjung Village (3,790m) After having late breakfast, take a walk for sightseeing around Namche Bazaar then hike to the Everest View Hotel. This is the ideal place to view outstanding mountains such as Mt.Everest, Nupste, Ama Dablam, Kangtegha, Thamserku, kusum khangru, khongde and Khumbi yu La etc. While watching the spectacular view of mountains, the trail leds you in khumjung valley, where can see Hillary School, an ancient Monastery with a yeti skull, and khunde Hospital, and then return back to Namche. If you are still willing to go, you can visit the mountaineering museum and visit the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC) in Namche Bazaar. Otherwise you can spend some time interacting with the fun-loving Sherpa and Rai people in here. Above the police check post you will see Sagarmatha National Park headquarters and visitor center; it is open 8 am to 4 pm except Saturdays and government holidays. Stay overnight at Lodge. Day 11: Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche (3,867m) -5 to 6 hours After breakfast we start our trek with a pleasant walk on a trail through the forest with magnificent views of mountains until Kenjoma, where the trail joins from Khumjung. Then it climbs steeply through forests on the Tengbuche monastery, situated at 3,867m. The view from here is rightly deemed to be one of the world’s most magnificent. Kwangde, Tawachee, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserku provide a stimulating panorama of Himalayan view. Stay overnight in Tengboche.
