It frees content contributors to focus on what they do best — work with content and connect with users — in an intuitive, straightforward manner, without needing to call the IT team. In the Mura CMS Content Manager's Guide, you'll learn how to harness the power of Mura CMS so you can get done what you need to simply and easily. Edit Add Version History Site Manager 8 Dashboard The Dashboard gives you a quick look at recent activity within your site, including recent visits, updated content, form submissions, comments, etc. Site Manager The Site Manager contains the core of Mura functionality — enabling you to add, update and delete site content. You can also re-order content, set permissions and more. Modules Most Mura Modules are optional add-on features that can be turned on and off on a per site basis. A few are essential to the functionality of Mura and cannot be disabled such as Categories and File Manager. Content Staging Simultaneously publish multiple content changes all at the same date and time with Mura's Content Staging Manager and Change Sets. Components Mura Components are most often used as content "includes" that can be created and placed on pages across your website. Categories Mura has powerful category-based functionality, enabling you to create extensive category/subcategory structures (and set up navigation based on these structures). Content Collections: Local Content Indexes One of Mura's more powerful features. Here you can easily create indexes of content from within your site, based on almost any business rule you can dream up - no code or SQL needed. 9 Content Collections: Remote Content Feeds Remote Content Feeds allow you to select and place content from external RSS feeds in your Mura site. Forms Manager Mura's Forms Manager allows you to create simple forms to collect, view and download data. File Manager Contains all of the files associated with your web site. Accessible only by the Site Admin. Plugins Any plugins assigned to the specific site will appear here. Users System (Administrative) Groups & Users Create and maintain administrative user groups and profiles to manage the web site. Member Groups & Users You can create Member Groups, add members to the groups and allow them access to specific sections of the web site. 1 0 Site Config Edit Site Configure key settings for your site including Email Server Settings, CMS Modules, Extranet Settings, Display Regions, Images Settings and more. Permissions Manage access to Mura CMS functions and web site content for System Groups and Member Groups. Class Extension Manager Create and edit custom content types to collect additional data from content managers and more. Typically used by developers. Create/ Deploy Site Bundles Easily export or import a complete copy of your web site. Trash Bin When content managers delete content, they may think it's gone forever, but that's not exactly true. Super Admins can restore deleted content quickly and easily in this area. Update Site Super Admins can get the latest bug fixes and display object enhancements by using this feature. 11 Creating the Site Structure Organizing parent-child page relationships for readability and intuitive understanding when viewing the structure later. The first step to building a site in Mura CMS is to set up the site structure. This involves adding the pages below the home page and creating the navigational links on the site. For this step, it is always beneficial to work with a clearly defined site structure. For our example we will refer to the Sitemap found in the Sample Specifications section. Access the Site Manager The Site Manager is the primary tool for organizing and maintaining your website content. It provides several features for viewing your site structure, allowing you to easily locate content in your website. Some key tools include: 1. Content Search 2. Architectural View and Flat View 3. Drag and drop content node ordering 4. "Toggle-able" viewing of child content/nodes 5. "Quick-Edit" controls for editable items in the Site Manager grid 6. User Permissions for all content 7. Version History Click on the Site Manager button on the primary admin navigation to view the Site Manager. There will only be one page (content node) in the site structure labeled Home. All new pages will be added below the home page. 12 Architectural View The Site Manager's default view shows an Architectural View of content (e.g. pages or sections) in your site. This is merely a hierarchal view of content as it resides within the site. By default, the Site Manager displays the Home page and the first level of sub-pages. Clicking the "Arrow" icon next to a node with children will reveal the children of that node. Site Manager Archttectural VIew Title The Title shows the Navigational/Menu Title of each content node. Click the Title to edit any of the content's attributes. Objects The Objects column shows the current setting for the Content Object cascade of each node. Click on the object icon of the desired row to edit the Object Cascade Inheritance setting. Options include: • Inherit Cascade • Start New Cascade ▪ Do Not Inherit Cascade 13 Display The Display column shows the current display setting of each node. Options include: • Yes • No • Per Stop / Start Dates Template The Template column indicates whether or not a template has been explicitly assigned to a specific node. Click the icon to edit the layout template for a specific content node. Nay The Nay column indicates whether a content node is included in the site navigation. Click the icon to edit it. Updated The Updated column displays the date and time of the last time a content node was edited. 14 Buttons To the right of each item in the Site Manager is a panel of buttons.
