The DACC’s Governmental Affairs Council, chaired by Claudia Hall from Southeast Health, falls under this goal and oversees the Legislative Affairs Task Force and Military Affairs Committee. The objective of the Legislative Affairs Task Force is to advocate for strong and sound business policies and to facilitate member involvement in the legislative process. The annual Eggs & Issues Breakfast gives chamber members the opportunity to network and hear from their legislators on the current issues and plans for the 2020 session. You can also participate in an electronic survey on the many issues the legislature will consider including state prisons, rural health care, broadband and a statewide lottery. Public policy affects us all, both personally and professionally. That is why it is important for us to be engaged with our legislators and provide them input on the issues. The first day of the 2020 regular session will be Tuesday, Feb. 4. Tickets for the luncheon are $15 per person or $150 a corporate table (seats eight).
