Explore Thailand EXPLORE THAILAND itinerary Explore Thailand Day 1 Arrive Bangkok Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by your guide, then transfer to your hotel. Overnight: Bangkok. Day 2 Bangkok City and Temple Tour After breakfast at the hotel, you begin your sightseeing tour. Your tour begins at the most famous tourist spots in Bangkok; the Royal Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha. The Grand Palace adjoins Wat Phra Kaew in a common compound and is where you will end up after exiting Wat Phra Kaew. Despite the proximity of the two, there is a distinct contrast in style between the very Thai Wat Phra Kaew and the more European inspired designs of the Grand Palace (the roof being the exception. Next, you will visit Wat Po, the largest and oldest temple in Bangkok, and also the temple holding the largest single Buddha image; the Reclining Buddha (Phra Buddhasaiyas). This temple is also known as the birthplace of Thai traditional massage. We then go for lunch at a local restaurant, after which, we continue on to visit Wat Arun, perhaps better known as the Temple of the Dawn, is one of the best- known landmarks and one of the most published images of Bangkok. After we take local public express boat to Ratchawong pier, then take vehicle transfer to Yaowarat Road where you visit an interesting shop selling bird’s nests and shark fins, continue to a very old tea shop to enjoy a cup of Chinese tea with the locals before heading down Trok Leng Moi EIA (a small alley) to Talad Kao for an interesting local market with a variety of fresh foods, fresh & dry fruits, Chinese herbs, groceries. End the walk at Wat Leng Neng Yee to visit the Taoist temple. After this, we return to the hotel and you are free at leisure. Overnight: Bangkok Meals: Breakfast EXPLORE THAILAND Day 3 Damnoen Saduak Floating Market (Optional) After breakfast, (Optional) pick up from your hotel and then transfer to one of the most attractive floating markets of Thailand; the Damnern saduak Floating Market. Here you will have the opportunity to take a long-tail boat tour to observe the lifestyle of the local people along the small canals. You will visit not only the coconut farm and have the chance to taste some delicious coconut juice, but also you will find a wonderful variety of seasonal fruits such as Rambutan, Mango, Papaya, etc. After lunch at a local, we drive back to the hotel where you have the rest of the day free at leisure to spend time relaxing or shopping as you wish. Overnight: Bangkok Meals: Breakfast Day 4 Bangkok - Chiang Mai (By flight) After breakfast, check-out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival in the Northern Capital you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in and overnight accommodation. Overnight: Chiang Mai Meals: Breakfast Day 5 Chiang Mai City Tour & Khantoke Dinner After breakfast proceed Chiang Mai city tour, you will meet your tour guide and then transfer to the hotel. From there, you will transfer to visit Doi Suthep Temple which is one of the most sacred temples in Chiangmai; known by the Thais as Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep. It is located on a hilltop and is built in the Northern-Thai style, and it is said to contain the holy relics of the Lord Buddha. From here, you will also enjoy a panoramic view of the whole city. After this, we return to the hotel where you will have some free time at leisure to relax on your own. In the evening you will enjoy the famous “Khantoke Dinner”, also known as the northern Thai welcome dinner, accompanied by traditional hill tribe dancing. Overnight: Chiang Mai Meals: Breakfast & Dinner Day 6 Chiang Mai Free Day (Optional Elephant Jungle Sanctuary) Breakfast is served at the hotel, today is free at leisure. (Optional) - Pick up from your hotel. Drive approximately 1.5 hours South of Chiang Mai through rolling hills, forest, and local farming areas. Arrive at the Sanctuary. Meet your guide and walk for 10-15 minutes through the Jungle to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. Change into traditional Karen clothing. Enjoy an introductory lesson about elephant anatomy, history, and behaviour. Meet the elephants. Feed, interact and play with the elephants in a natural environment as you learn about their behaviour and history. Take photos with the elephants. Enjoy a lunch of traditional Thai food and fresh fruit. Learn how to make herbal medicine balls, feed the Elephants and then walk with the elephants to the river. Bathe and brush the elephants. EXPLORE THAILAND Join the elephants for a therapeutic mud spa. Swim in the river and take photos with the elephants. Change clothes and say goodbye to the elephants. Leave the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary and drive approximately 1.5 hours to Chiang Mai. Drop off at your hotel. Overnight: Chiang Mai Meals: Breakfast Day 7 Chiang Mai - Phuket (Flight) Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then you are free at leisure until it’s time for your transfer to the airport for your flight departure to Phuket.
