Despite being a small school, our students certainly do not miss out and they achieve big things. Three of our students have been selected to represent the Kingaroy Small Schools at the upcoming South Burnett Cross Country. Nathan (who placed first in his division) will represent us in 12 Years Boys, Soren (who placed first in her division) will represent us in 11 Years Girls, and Olithia (who placed second in her division) will represent us in 10 Years Girls. Not only did these students have to place in the Small Schools Cross Country event, they also had to make a time cut-off. We wish them all the very best for the South Burnett Cross Country on Friday 21st of May! Tonight our P&C is hosting a “Cowboy and Cowgirl” themed disco. The event kicks off at 5:30pm and concludes at 8:30pm. There will be a sausage sizzle and snacks for sale. The entry is a gold coin and the event is for Coolabunia families only. This is a great opportunity for students and parents to come together for a fun social event and I look forward to seeing many of you there! Next week our Year 3 and 5 students will complete NAPLAN on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Below is a timetable of the test program, outlining when each test will take place, who will administer the tests and where, and the supervision arrangements for our Year 4 and 6 students. Each day, after the test, students will continue with their normal day and arrangements have been made for Tuesday and Wednesday to ensure that students do not miss their Music, P.E. and Japanese lessons. While there is no preparation required for NAPLAN, we do recommend that students are supported with a good night’s rest and filling healthy breakfast. Coolabunia State School NAPLAN 2021 In 2021 students in Years 3 and 5 will complete the paper version of the NAPLAN test. As we join with other small schools, our practice lessons are scheduled for the next two Fridays – 14th and 21st of May – at Wooroolin State School. Students will be able to compete in netball, touch or soccer. We hope that the students enjoy themselves in this event and continue to make strong connections with their small school peers. Consent forms and bus costs will be sent home early next week. Finally, I would like to congratulate our P&C and wider school community again for the fantastic effort that was put into the Rotary catering fundraiser. In our May P&C meeting which was held this Tuesday, it was revealed that the P&C made just over five thousand dollars in profit from this event. That is an absolutely huge effort and was only possible due to the hard work, support and generosity of our Coolabunia community members. Well done! I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend and I look forward to seeing you all for another great week at Coolabunia!
