KRUSHARI wind power plant LOCATION • Krushari municipality, Dobrich region • 4km South of the Romanian border • 60km West of the Black Sea coast and Port Varna (East and West) • Close to the “Hemus” highway • Closest Urban areas: ✓ Krushari village (people1741) ✓ Polkovnik Dyakovo (351 people) ✓ Dobrin village (185 people) ✓ Koriten village (356 people). GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS • 70 wind turbine locations (purchased and rented) • Energy production ✓ 531,664 MWh/year using Vestas V 112, 3MW, 120 HH ✓ 592,351 MWh/year using Vestas V 126, 3MW, 120 HH • Capacity factor ✓ 28.9 % capacity factor using Vestas V 112, 3MW, 120 HH ✓ 32.2 % capacity factor using Vestas V 126, 3MW, 120 HH • More than 2250 full load hours per year in both configurations POWER GRID CONNECTION • Three “High Voltage” power grid lines available ✓ 110kV in proximity to Krushari village; ✓ Krushari substation – 110/20kV; ✓ 400kV and 750kV lines in proximity to Dobrin village. • There is also a possibility for future interconnection to a substation planned for a wind park whose development is already in progress in the vicinity. EIA ASPECTS • The project’s location is outside protected areas and Natura 2000 ✓ Field observations have been conducted on bird migration routes and habitats: ✓ Autumn migration 2008 – 1 observation post ✓ Spring migration 2009 – 3 observation posts ✓ Autumn migration 2009 – 1 observation post • Report on behalf of the Bulgarian Society of Bird protection has been carried out about the bird migration in the area. WIND MEASUREMENTS • Local measurements, according to IEC Standard 61400- 12-1 at the following met mast locations: ✓ Polkovnik Dyakovo (50m height) from 25.11.09 – 09.03.2011 ✓ Dobrin (70m height) from 20.10.2007 – 31.10.2008 ✓ Koriten (60m height) from 26.02.2007 – 07.11.2012 • Reference long term data ✓ NCAR database (N45.0, E27.5) Closest point in the NCAR grid -130km north Period of measurements from 01.01.1980 –01.12.2012 ✓ Meteo station “Calarasi” Period of measurements from 09.03.2000 – 31.12.2012 WIND RESOURCE MAP • The map depicts wind speed potential at a height of 120m; • The data used is taken from the 3 meteo masts in the project area; • Map’s resolution of 200/200m grid; • Resource map prepared using EMD WindPro 2.7 modeling software and then visualized using a GIS application.
