MUSEUMS, TEXTILE COLLECTIONS AND PERSPECTIVES OF MUTUAL COOPERATION Baku 2019 Call for Azerbaijan Carpet Museum papers November 16-19, 2019 The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, and the CIS Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation are planning to hold the conference Museums, Textile Collections and Perspectives of Mutual Cooperation on November 16-19, 2019. The conference is timed to Latif Karimov’s birthday, the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum’s founder, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, the unsurpassed carpet- making master, and the date of inclusion of the Azerbaijani Traditional Carpet Art within the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The 2019 conference schedule includes two full days of academic sessions, one- day masterclasses, and one additional day for the cultural program. Venue: Azerbaijan Carpet Museum Organizing Committee will accept 20-minute presentations relating to one of the following themes: • Textile Museums in Digital World • Textile Collection Mobility • Project Management • Curatorial Work and Presentation • Specifics of Conservation in Textile Museums • Audience Development Proposals must include the following information: Contact Information • Name • Institution • Email • Short biography (100 words) A concise summary including: • Paper title • Identification of corresponding conference theme • Abstract (in English, 500 words) Please submit your proposals no later than: May 31, 2019 to [email protected] Review and Selection Process The organizers will review all proposals by the June 30th, 2019. Proceedings presented at the conference will be published in a collection of academic papers. Due to the visa requirements to enter Azerbaijan from certain countries, ACM team will issue a letter of invitation to participants as required.
