During the second half of 1954, the 6900th Security Wing relocated from Landsberg AB to Frankfurt am Main, Germany— moving into the IG Farben Building. Located near the Main U.S. Army Post Exchange on WAC Circle in downtown Frankfurt, the Farben Building already housed European offices of the Army Security Agency, Naval Security Group, National Security Agency and Central Intelligence Agency. Personnel assigned to the 6900th SW shared some of the finest facilities and amenities in Europe—comfortable family housing and an American high school, excellent enlisted quarters, extensive, well-stocked post exchange facilities, and the plush Terrace Club (officers) and Topper Club (NCO's). Single enlisted men of all American services lived in Army billets. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Air Force Lineage and Honors Created: 16 Jun 2020 Updated: Sources Air Force Historical Research Agency.
