April Update (as of 4/15/11): UCLA leads all schools with 14 alumni in the National Basketball Association. Nine of the alums played for current head coach Ben Howland and six were selected in the fi rst rounds of the last fi ve NBA Drafts. Seven of the Bruins are involved in the NBA Playoffs. Two Bruins made the NBA All-Star Game, two Bruins rank in the Top 20 in scoring, fi ve Bruins rank in the Top 31 in assists and a Bruin led the league in rebounds. Here is a summary of each of the 14 alums in alphabetical order: Arron Afflalo Trevor Ariza Arron Affl alo (Denver) started all 69 games he played during the regular season while averaging 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists. He shot 49.8% from the fl oor, 42.3% from three-point range and 84.7% from the line. Made the NBA Playoffs. Trevor Ariza (New Orleans) started all 75 of his games he played during the regular season while averaging 11.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Made the NBA Playoffs. Matt Barnes (Los Angeles Lakers) has played in 53 games and had a knee injury that kept him on the sidelines for several weeks. He is averaging 6.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 Matt Barnes Darren Collison assists while shooting 47.0% from the fl oor and 77.9% from the line. Made the NBA Playoffs. Darren Collison (Indiana) started all 79 games he played during the regular season while averaging 13.2 points, 5.1 assists (No. 30 in the league) and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 45.7% from the fl oor and 87.1% (No. 12 in the NBA) from the line. Made the NBA Playoffs. Baron Davis (Cleveland) started 44 of his 58 games he played during the regular season while averaging 13.1 points, 6.7 assists (No. 14 in the NBA), 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. Jordan Farmar (New Jersey) started in 18 of the 73 games he played during the regular season while averaging 9.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists (No. 31 in the NBA). Jrue Holiday (Philadelphia) started all 82 games of the regular season while averaging 14.0 points, 6.5 assists (No. 19 in the NBA), 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Made the NBA Playoffs. Ryan Hollins (Cleveland) started 16 of his 70 games he played during the regular season while averaging 5.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in 16.9 minutes and shot 59.8% from the fi eld. Jason Kapono (Philadelphia) started in two of his 24 games he played during the regular season while averaging 0.7 points and 0.5 rebounds in 4.7 minutes. Made the NBA Playoffs. Dan Gadzuric Jrue Holiday Kevin Love (Minnesota) started all 73 games he played during the regular season while leading the NBA in rebounding at 15.2 rpg. He fi nished No. 2 in the NBA in double-doubles with 64 and ranked 19th in the league in scoring (20.2 points). He shot 47.0% from the fi eld, 41.7% from three-point range (No. 14 in the NBA) and 85.0% (No. 25 in the NBA) from the free-throw line. His streak of 53 straight games with a double-double this season is an NBA post-merger record. NBA Commissioner David Stern named Love as the injury replacement for Houston center Yao Ming on the NBA All-Star Team. Luc Mbah a Moute (Milwaukee) started 52 of the 79 games he played during the regular season while averaging 6.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in 26.5 minutes. Ryan Hollins Jason Kapono Earl Watson (Utah) started in 13 of the 80 games he played during the regular season while averaging 4.3 points, 3.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 19.6 minutes. Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City) started all 82 games he played during the regular season and ranked No. 14 in the league in scoring (22.3 points) and No. 9 in assists (8.2). He also averaged 4.6 rebounds and 1.9 steals (No. 4 in the NBA) and is shooting 84.2% from the free-throw line (37th in the NBA).
