April Update (as of 4/15/11): UCLA leads all schools with 14 alumni in the National Basketball Association. Nine of the alums played for current head coach Ben Howland and six were selected in the fi rst rounds of the last fi ve NBA Drafts. Seven of the Bruins are involved in the NBA Playoffs. Two Bruins made the NBA All-Star Game, two Bruins rank in the Top 20 in scoring, fi ve Bruins rank in the Top 31 in assists and a Bruin led the league in rebounds. Here is a summary of each of the 14 alums in alphabetical order: Arron Afflalo Trevor Ariza Arron Affl alo (Denver) started all 69 games he played during the regular season while averaging 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists. He shot 49.8% from the fl oor, 42.3% from three-point range and 84.7% from the line. Made the NBA Playoffs. Trevor Ariza (New Orleans) started all 75 of his games he played during the regular season while averaging 11.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Made the NBA Playoffs. Matt Barnes (Los Angeles Lakers) has played in 53 games and had a knee injury that kept him on the sidelines for several weeks. Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City) started all 82 games he played during the regular season and ranked No. 14 in the league in scoring (22.3 points) and No. 9 in assists (8.2). He also averaged 4.6 rebounds and 1.9 steals (No. 4 in the NBA) and is shooting 84.2% from the free-throw line (37th in the NBA).
