Louisiana. Century II ■ 3 Celebration of the Crest The 2015 “Celebration of the Crest”- Brother Martin Extravaganza, sponsored by the Parents Club, was held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the New Orleans Marriott Hotel on Canal Street. There were over 850 Crusader friends who partied in grand style, complete with an ice carving of the school crest, all to the benefit of the Brother Martin student body. Parents, friends, alumni of St. Aloysius, Cor Jesu, and Brother Martin, as well as faculty and staff enjoyed an evening of great food and drink, music, and a selection of almost 300 silent and verbal auction items at one of the premiere hotels in New Orleans. “It was truly a great night for Brother Martin and everyone associated with the school,” said Development Director Tommy Mitchell ’79. “There is nothing more gratifying than to see our alumni, parents, and friends come together as a family and enjoy a great evening in a wonderful setting for the benefit of our young men. I really believe this was one of the best auctions that we have ever had, not only in terms of attendance and financially, but from the community building aspect.” Crusader Jazz Band members directed by Chris Bailey ’86 led off the evening at a memorable Patron Party and The Benchwarmers provided the entertainment in the Grand Ballroom for the main event.
