Squamish is where the ocean meets the mountains in Sea to Sky Country and lies at the crossroads between incomparable outdoor recreation and unforgettable West Coast culture - where rugged landscapes and stunning vistas come together to create unique and memorable adventures. Squamish's popularity as a year-round destination for a myriad of activities has earned us the title of "Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada". The geography and climate of the Squamish area offer not only tremendous physical beauty but also world-class recreation opportunities. From hiking, biking, climbing, skiing, snowboarding, bird watching, golfing and sightseeing to sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, white-water rafting and fishing there is truly something for everyone. Winter visitors can enjoy eagle viewing, flight seeing, backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, fishing and horseback riding, to name just a few! Besides the array of outdoor activities, people choose Squamish because the community is made up of diverse people that are working together to find a balance between work, nature, and themselves. Whether your pleasure is sport, nature, arts, or culture; you will find a unique authenticity of ingredients in the makeup of Squamish. Whether you are arriving by plane, bus, car or train, the journey to Squamish is scenic and convenient. Highway 99 is well marked through the Vancouver area if you are driving, and Greyhound Canada offers regular service up the Sea to Sky Corridor. If you are flying into Vancouver International Airport (YVR), Pacific Coach Lines offers a direct shuttle from the airport to the Squamish Adventure Centre. The Squamish landscape was, and is, under a constant battle
