Stern, President/Head Coach website: honoluluquarterbackclub.com/Telephone 808-531-9930 PRESS RELEASE For Release: May 16, 2010 The Honolulu Quarterback Club, celebrating 64 Years, is pleased to announce the following Guest Speakers for their luncheon, Monday, May 17th, at the Maple Garden Restaurant. The Maple Garden is located at 909 Isenberg (near the corner of King and Isenberg directly across from the Old Stadium Park) and there is free parking next to the Restaurant or street parking is available. The entrance to the meeting room is located at the rear of the Maple Garden building through the parking lot. Lunch is at 11:30 am and the program begins at 12 noon. The luncheon cost is $15.00 per person for members and guests which includes tax and gratuities. Christopher Chun - Executive Director - Hawaii High School Athletic Association - With the departure of Keith Amemiya, Chris Chun was selected as the new Executive Director of HHSAA in March of this year. Chris, an attorney, like Keith was before joining HHSAA, has had extensive experience in civil litigation and was general council for the Oahu Interscholastic Association. He also participated as a Court Annexed Program Arbitrator. Chris received his Juris Doctor in May 2003 at the University of Hawai'i, Manoa, William S. Richardson School of Law. Previous to attending UH, he received his Master of Science Criminal Justice and Public Administration Degree from Chaminade University. Chris received his Bachelor's of Arts Degree from the University of Hawai'i. He will be talking about his experience regarding the spring high school sports. Chris will be open for questions at the HQC Luncheon on Monday. Nick Rolovich - Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks - University of Hawai'i "Football Warriors" - Coach Nick returns to the HQC as the new Offensive Coordinator for the "Warriors". He last visited the HQC in 2008 and has been successful in his coaching career since joining the team at UH. Coach Nick started as coach of the quarterbacks and he continues in that capacity with the added responsibilities of calling the plays for the offensive unit. Before joining the "Warriors" he was the quarterbacks coach at City College of San Francisco, where he helped coach the "Rams" to a J.C. Gridwire National Championship in 2007. As you will recall, Coach Nick replaced injured Timmy Chang in the 2001 season and lead the Warriors to a 8-1 record. In the season finale, against 4th ranked Brigham Young, "Rolo" threw for a then school-record of 543 yards and a current record of 8 touchdowns. Coach Nick was a student assistant at UH where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics and went on to earn a master's in human performance and sport at New Mexico Highlands. "Rolo" will give us a complete rundown on spring training especially the offensive line. He will also give us the inside story on the quarterbacks and Bryant Moniz. "Rolo will be available for questions at the Honolulu Quarterback Luncheon. Brian McCutcheon - Volunteer Coach - Master Instructor - Oahu Taekwondo Center - The U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) has named Brian as Volunteer Coach of the year for 2009. The awards will be presented in June, during the National Coaching Educators' Conference held this year in Savannah, GA. "We are proud of Brian, his athletes and their collective accomplishments," added USA Taekwondo CEO David Askinas. "The 50th state continues to develop some winning athletes and Brian's coaching and leadership are major factors in making it happen." A number of athletics coached by Brian have landed on Junior National and U-24 National Taekwondo teams and won metals. In 2009, Brian has coached his athletes to a record of 104 wins and 28 losses, and they included a U.S. National Champion, U.S. Senior and Junior National Champions and medalists, U.S. Junior National Champions and medalists, and U.S. Open Senior and Junior medalists. Coach Brian has guided a Junior Olympic team each year since 1995, and has taken a team to Senior Nationals every year since 1994 and has coached a team at the Senior Nationals every year since 2002. He has also served as the head coach of the Marshall Islands team at the 2008 Olympic Games. Coach Brian will discuss his Olympic's experience at the HQC Luncheon and will answer questions. THE GENERAL PUBLIC IS INVITED! Come to our meeting & celebrate these speakers! There is very limited parking next to the Maple Garden Restaurant but there is plenty of street Parking. .
