Cynthia Silvina Fernández Diaz Vigo, Pontevedra, Spain +34-610437558 [email protected] My name is Cynthia and I have a degree in Biological Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia San Juan Bosco, Argentina (2007) and hold a Master in Management Sustainable Development at the Universidad de Vigo, Spain (2014). Since 2000 I was worked on different projects related to the conservation and management of natural resources in Patagonia Argentina and Spain. In the Chubut province (Argentina) have done consulting and technical assistance on artisanal and sport fisheries of tehuelche scallop fishery and salmon on rocky reefs for CENPAT-CONICET (Centro Nacional Patagónico - National Council of Scientific and Technical Research) and recovery of natural areas in Peninsula Valdes (World Heritage Site by Unesco) for the Fundacion Vida Silvestre Argentina. I have also participated in projects of the Pew Environment Group-The Pew Charitable Trusts to know the situation of Antarctic krill fisheries and toothfish, and I was coordinated the edition of the book "State of Conservation Patagonian Sea "for the Forum for the Conservation of the Patagonian Sea (2007-2008) in which was made a review of fishing activity and the state of the principal exploited species: squid, shrimp and hake. Since 2010 I am a member of the Young Leaders of marine conservation, a forum for communication, training and exchange of experiences with a transdisciplinary view. I continued my training in the field of sustainability and distribution of coastal-marine resources through distribution models tools and geographic information systems (GIS). Currently I am a student of the Master on Geographical information Systems of Girona University and am working as an independent consultant producing reports on the state of fish stocks and fisheries. Is qualified as Team Member for MSC Fishery Education 2015 – today MSc in Geographic Information Systems. Universitat de Girona 2013 – today PhD In Marine Science Technology and Management.
