THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF SIOUX LOOKOUT BY-LAW NO. 07-07 BEING A BY-LAW TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS TO VARIOUS BOARDS AND COMMITTEES WHEREAS Section 8 of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, grants a municipality the capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person for the purpose of exercising its authority under this ()r any other Act; and n WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Sioux Lookout "-.--' deems it advisable to make appointments to various Boards and Committees; and WHEREAS making appointments to various Boards and Committees is deemed to be a natural person power; and WHEREAS Municipal Policy No. 1-3, Sec. 3.1.4 (b) states that appointments to Boards and Committees, shall be made no later than the regularly-scheduled meeting of January following an election year; and WHEREAS Subsection 5(3) of the Municipal Act requires that all municipal powers, including natural person powers, are exercised by by-law; NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF SIOUX LOOKOUT ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT those appointments to various Boards and Committees shall be maintained as "Schedule A", forming part.of this By-Law and attached hereto. 2. THAT Schedule A may be amended as required and all amendments shall be approved by resolution of Council without an amendment to this By-Law. 3. THAT By-Law No. 102-06 (To Appoint Members to the Sioux Lookout Hydro Inc. Board of Directors) is rescinded. 4. THAT this By-Law shall come into force and take effect on the date of its final passing.
