50 Years in Film Since its opening in 1966, Caesars Palace has been a popular site for movie and TV crews, offering incomparable locations and experiences that have captured the imaginations of Hollywood’s top talent. Today Caesars Palace continues to be a Las Vegas pillar for film and TV productions worldwide, shooting over fifty productions per year at the iconic resort. The Early Years 1970 – “The Only Game in Town,” was the first movie filmed at Caesars Palace starring Elizabeth Taylor and Warren Beatty 1979 – Robert Redford rode on horseback through the Palace Casino in "Electric Horseman," which also starred Jane Fonda, Willie Nelson and Valerie Perrine 1988 – The Academy Award-winning "Rain Man," starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise, filmed at Caesars Palace for more than six weeks. Now, more than 25 years later, guests still ask for the famous “Rain Man” Suite located in the Forum Tower Forum Classic Emperor Suite, unofficially known as the “Rain Man” suite The 1990s – Early 2000s 1997 – “Fools Rush In,” a love story starring Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek, was filmed at Caesars Palace 2003 – Romantic comedy “Intolerable Cruelty” starred George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones inside the resort’s Emperor Suite 2006 – “Dreamgirls,” starring Beyonce Knowles and Jamie Foxx, featured the famed resort. Jennifer Hudson’s unforgettable “And I Tell You That I’m Not Going” was set in the resort’s showroom The Recent Years 2008 – The box office blockbuster “Iron Man” featured Academy Award-winner Robert Downey, Jr. in the title role of billionaire Tony Stark seducing a beautiful reporter at the resort’s grand front entrance 2009 – Caesars Palace was featured prominently in the Warner Bros. blockbuster comedy “The Hangover” – a film that went on to be the top-grossing R-rated comedy of all time. In the trilogy’s final installment released in 2013, “Hangover Part III,” the cast returned to Vegas and the hilarity of their misfortunes ensued 2012 – Paramount released the mother-son comedy “The Guilt Trip,” which featured Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand in a cross-country mother-son road trip with a stop along the way at Caesars Palace. 2013 –2014 – Sony Screen Gems’ “Think Like a Man Too” and Summit’s “Step Up All In” featured the gorgeous locations of the resort including the Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis, casino, valet, lobby, villas, suites and more 2014 – Caesars Palace was also displayed in Warner Bros. re-imagining of the cinema classic “Godzilla,” featuring Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen 2015 – Jake Gyllenhaal starred as a struggling boxer who takes the ring at Caesars Palace in The Weinstein Company’s “Southpaw” 2015 – Paramount Pictures’ “The Big Short,” was nominated for the Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay Academy Awards, with Adam McKay and Charles Randolph winning the Screenplay statue 2016 – “Knight of Cups” featured Christian Bale and Teresa Palmer enjoying the Neptune Villa, Bella Luce Terrace, Garden of the Goods Pool Oasis, Brahma Shrine, Caesars front fountains, valet and lobby .
