Anwar denies ordering MB to name and shame MalaysiaKini.com Sept 29, 2014 Anwar Ibrahim has denied "ordering" Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali to investigate and expose those who benefitted from deals inked during the reign of the latter's predecessor, Khalid Ibrahim. The PKR de facto leader explained that he only sought an explanation from the new administration on the major spike in salaries for elected reps in the state, the construction of the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) and the water deal signed with Putrajaya. "I only asked for an explanation from the new menteri besar so that we can acquire information (on these issues) and I do not determine everything including the punishment (accorded). "Whoever wants to profit, that is his right but the process and rules must be followed. "Don't allow others to profit just because we want to defend our post and this in turn leads the people to pay more (to the state)," he told reporters in Shah Alam. Previously, the Permatang Pauh MP said he had asked Azmin to expose the list of companies and individuals who benefitted from the water deal signed by former Selangor menteri besar. Abdul Khalid Ibrahim however defended the deal and challenged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate the agreements. At a separate event, Azmin says there is no rush to fill the deputy speaker position which has been promised to PAS after incumbent Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad from PKR was appointed an exco member. "There is no urgency to discuss the deputy speaker position now, it will be discussed in November (when the state assembly convenes)," he told journalists when met in Shah Alam today. Earlier today, Selangor PAS commissioner Iskandar Samad said the Islamic party has yet to decide whether to take up the position.
