ADAM BAŁDYCH IMAGINARY QUARTET „Imaginary Room” Adam Bałdych & The Baltic Gang - is the full title of Adam’s latest album recorded together with great Scandinavian musicians: Jacob Karlzon (piano), Lars Danielsson (double bass, cello), Morten Lund (percussion), Verneri Pohjola (trumpet) and Marius Neset (saxophone). The album is Adam’s debut in prestigious label from Germany ACT MUSIC. „Imaginary Room” album shows, that jazz violin can be very modern and Adam, even though he is very young, marks out new directions in jazz violin. At the age of 16, Adam started performing internationally (Germany, Poland, Serbia, Hungary, Indonesia, Spain, France, USA). First called "a child prodigy", evolved to being named one of the most interesting jazz violinists in Europe. Adam Bałdych recorded his first album for the prestigious label ACT MUSIC in 2012. Album "Imaginary Room" was produced by Siggi Loch and Nils Landgren and recorded with the leading European jazz Artists (Lars Danielsson, Jacob Karlzon, Verneri Pohjola, Morten Lund and Marius Neset). His european debut opened the continent's most important jazz stages, Adam was invited to perform at the biggest jazz festivals in Europe, including the Montreux Jazz Festival and the London Jazz Festival. He graduated from Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland. He teaches in Department of Jazz at Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music. With his trio he won prizes: I prize – Standard Jazz Festival in Siedlce in 2005, Grand Prix and Radio Kraków special prize at Jazz Juniors 2005, Grand Prix at Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa 2006. With other bands: Grand Prix at Krokus Jazz Festival in Jelenia Góra in 2006, I prize at Jazz Bands Competition in Radom. He received also twice the I prize at Jazz nad Odrą Festival Competition in 2003 and 2004. Paweł Tomaszewski performs with Jarosław Śmietana Quartet, Grzegorz Nagórski Quartet, Quintessence band, Mika Urbaniak band or Damage Control. In June 2006 he was a member of Dean Brown Quartet and Eric Marienthal International Band during their European tours. Michał Barański – double bass and guitar player. Graduated from Academy of Music in Katowice (Poland) - Department of Jazz in 2007. Prizes received – Grand Prix in the Groups category at the 40th Jazz Nad Odrą Festival in Wroclaw; Grand Prix distinction, along with the "Jazz Angel 2005" statuette, at the Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa competition in Bielsko-Biala; "Swingujący Kruk" award for best instrumentalist at Hot Jazz Spring Contest 2004 in Czestochowa; FRYDERYK prize 2007 for the best jazz album of the year "Assymetry" with Zbigniew Namysłowski Quintet and FRYDERYK prize for the best poetic album "Umiera Piękno" with Aga Zaryan. He has worked with many polish artists such as: Zbigniew Namysłowski, Tomasz Stańko, Aga Zaryan, Jarek Śmietana, Mietek Szcześniak, Piotr Baron, Janusz Muniak, Dorota Miśkiewicz, Ewa Bem and with international stars: Bennie Maupin, Nigel Kennedy, Dan Tepfer. Paweł Dobrowolski – percussionist. He graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Department of Jazz and Contemporary Music. Since 2006 he has been a member of the Anna Maria Jopek Band. He had the opportunity to perform and collaborate with artists such as: Nigel Kennedy, Anna Maria Jopek, Richard Bona, Mino Cinelu, Makoto Ozone, Michał Urbaniak, Urszula Dudziak, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Janusz Muniak, Tomasz Szukalski, Wojciech Karolak, Zbigniew Wegehaupt, Henryk Miśkiewicz, Krzysztof Herdzin or Krzesimir Dębski. He won the FRYDERYK for the best jazz album of the year "Assymetry" with Zbigniew Namysłowski Quintet. He has performed at many festivals all over the world and had the opportunity to play on many prestigious venues such as: Royal Albert Hall in London or Olympia in Paris. .
