The SAS Group works with specialist communications firms as required. HON CON SCIACCA AO Con was a member of the Australian Parliament for 15 years - first elected in 1987. He served in the Governments of Prime Ministers Hon Bob Hawke and Hon Paul Keating and in opposition with the Hon Kim Beazley. Con served as Parliamentary Secretary for the Social Security and the Arts and Administrative Services portfolios. In 1994, Con was appointed the Minister for Veterans' Affairs and Minister assisting the Treasurer for Superannuation. He was the Shadow Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs from 1998 to 2001. For more than 40 years, Con has been a prominent Labor Party leader and political identity starting at the age of 21 as the President of Queensland Young Labor. His outstanding career saw many highlights. Con conducted the Australia Remembers program to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the end of World War II and was the World Secretary of the Global Organisation of Parliamentarians against Corruption. His lifetime involvement in politics, business and the law, has provided Con with invaluable experience in dealing with the peculiarities of governments at all levels and the relationship between government and the law. A qualified solicitor, he currently provides advice on government relations and corporate strategy to a number of major companies. HON LARRY ANTHONY Larry was a member of the Australian Parliament from 1996 to 2004. He served with Prime Minister Hon John Howard holding the senior roles of Minister for Children and Youth Affairs and the Minister for Community Services. He was the longest serving Minister responsible for Centrelink and he also served as the Parliamentary Secretary for Trade under the leadership of Hon Tim Fischer. He was a member of the House of Representatives' Standing Committees on Financial Institutions, Public Administration, and Corporations and Securities. Larry is the third generation Anthony family member in the Australian Parliament - the only family in Australian history where each elected member served as Ministers of the Crown. Larry continues the tradition of leadership and involvement in the National Party of Australia. Prior to entering Parliament, Larry was a stockbroker and investment banker, and was formerly licensed to trade on the New York Stock Exchange and Chicago Mercantile Commodities Exchange. Larry is now a professional company director with a strong interest in the information technology, finance, media and human services sectors. He is active in supporting youth achievement through his involvement in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards in Australia and internationally. HON SANTO SANTORO Santo was elected to the Queensland Parliament in 1989 and served as the Minister for Training and Industrial Relations. His reforms led to re-establishing the financial viability of the State's workers' compensation scheme, major restructuring of the industrial relations system and transformation of the workplace safety and training sectors. He became a member of the Australian Senate in 2002. Santo served .with Prime Minister Hon John Howard as the Minister for Ageing and oversaw major reforms of the sector. He also served as the Chair of the Joint Statutory Committee on the Australian Federal Crime Commission and as a member the Senate Environment, Communications, Information Technology and the Arts Legislation Committee and the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties. Santo has comprehensive knowledge of regulatory approaches and structures, and extensive networks across the public and private sectors in Australia and internationally.
