The results showed that vehicles were speeding going South from Kirkby Stephen, with vehicles averaging 23rd January—Precept/Budget 37 mph, and around 3000 vehicles per day over the 30 mph speed limit,. Approxi- meeting mately 20% of vehicles reached speeds where enforcement would follow. 55%- 6th February 61% daily were over 30mph but under the enforcement threshold. This was felt to th be adequate information for the Police to establish a Safety Camera site at this 6 March end of the town. 3rd or 10th April (tbc) Over the period of use 1430 small vehicles passed the units, 35000 medium vehi- 1st or 8th May (tbc) cles and 2150 large vehicles.
