BC Liquor Distribution Branch - Senior Manager, Safety and Wellness - Opportunity Profile 2 | Page THE OPPORTUNITY SENIOR MANAGER, SAFETY AND WELLNESS In Human Resources (HR), the LDB supports a large, distributed organization with a range of services from its Talent & Compensation, Organizational Development & Change, Employee Relations and Investigations, and Organizational Health and Safety teams. The Senior Manager will support the retail, warehouse, and corporate office environments with a unionized employee base. In HR, the LDB knows that ensuring employees feel valued and respected and providing opportunities for learning and development is how business is able to drive efficiencies and profitability. The Senior Manager, Safety & Wellness reports to the Director, Health & Safety and applies an understanding of operations, comprehensive knowledge of legislated safety requirements, and collective and component agreements to manage the provision of services related to employee safety. This position develops, implements and maintains LDB-wide wellness and safety programs in order to maximize employee health by promoting wellness and minimizing the risk of physical injury in the workplace. The Senior Manager, Safety & Wellness directs a team of Safety Advisors, a Safety Coordinator, a Wellness Coordinator, and an Emergency Programs Manager. The Senior Manager is responsible for providing advice and guidance to senior leadership and promotes and fosters the development of a best-in-class safety culture by driving ongoing improvement to the LDB’s health and safety performance.
