When super typhoon Yolanda came, help was difficult to get due to scattered LGU statistics. RATIONALE & OBJECTIVES With CBMS … An updated and complete database is now in place. Planning has a clearer direction. Ease in drafting all other LGU plans. Effective partnerships have sprouted creating and paving new opportunities for the municipality. HOW DID CBMS HELPED US? Now that we are done with data collection … The freshly collected CBMS data serves as basis in crafting the 2016 Local Poverty Reduction Action Plan. The CBMS data is also being used by the LGU in DRRM planning. It has also poured in significant information for the on-going updating of the CLUP. The mobile-based data collection allows a faster census considering the urgent need of the information results. The new CBMS technology provided job opportunity to the youth employed under the Government Internship Program (GIP) of DOLE. HOW DID CBMS HELPED US? More importantly … The CBMS data enables the LGU to access programs provided by the national government and NGOs such as Save the Children, UNICEF, and World Vision among others on the road to recovery and sustained progress. These NGOs not only contributed funding for CBMS, but also for DRRM, women and child welfare, shelter, and health services. Data survey results guarantees utmost accuracy and has taken local census to a whole new level given the new technology. 2014 CBMS CENSUS RESULTS Source CBMS Census: 2014-2016 USES OF CBMS IN THE LGU On its completion, the CBMS data will be utilized exhaustively … In making a more responsive and appropriate AIP, DRRM Plan, LPRAP, among others. It will also supply the much needed data for barangay development planning. It will give the new policy makers in 2016 a clear picture of the municipality. CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS In sum … It can be gleaned that the mobile- based census has saved not only time but money as well. The LGU was also ridden from the hassles of encoding every single questionnaire thereby decreasing the risks of erroneous data. The pace and ease of data collection proved favorable to the LGU’s urgent need for information. It is recommended that the mobile- based data collection undergo continuous updating to make it even more user friendly, and truly serve its purpose for a faster and easier survey. CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS Lastly … CBMS has been instrumental in Alangalang’s continuous pursuit for recovery and sustained progress. .
