North East Ska*Jazz Orchestra is a big band born in the summer of 2012 with the will to gather many professional musicians active in the Jamaican and Afroamerican music scene of the Italian North East. NES*JO played in Italy, Slovenia and Spain and in a little time has got ver good results, also thanks to the collaborations with two important representatives of Italian reggae and ska music: Mr. T- Bone (Africa Unite, Bluebeaters) and Furio (Pitura Freska, Ska-J). In the spring of 2014 was released their very first E.P. “Music For Marikana”, produced thanks to the support of the association Time For Africa, with whom the band has collaborated to build an educational-cultural centre in the middle of Marikana, mining zone in South Africa. The album “Stompin' And Rollin'” is due in May 2015, thanks to a successful crowdfunding. The album was recorded at Studio Jork in Capodistria (Slovenia), mixed at The Volcano Lounge, Sherman Oaks (California) by Brian Dixon and will be published and distributed by Brixton Records (Bilbao, Spain).
