The Shia’s Rejection of Ali ibn Abee Talib The Shia’s Rejection of Ali ibn Abee Talib ﺑﺴﻢ اﻟﻠﻪ اﻟﺮﺣﻤﻦ اﻟﺮﺣﻴﻢ They say the proof of your love for an individual is your adherence to way and acceptance of his path. Allah challenges us. Allah said: Say (O Muhammad to mankind): “If you (really) love Allah then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur’an and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”[ Ali-Imran:31] This verse is the test to measure the sincerity of a person’s love for Allah, which can be manifested by following and Now the Shia claim they love Ali, but .(ﷺ) obeying the Prophet do they follow him? Here let’s look at 14 authentic narrations from Ali. Each narration is the speech and actions from Ali that the Shia reject. 1: Ali destroys the notion the Pophet advised him to be the Caliph after him. (ﷺ) Ali bin Abu Talib came out of the house of the Prophet` during his fatal ailment. The people asked (`Ali), “O Abu this (ﷺ) Hasan! How is the health of Allah’s Messenger morning?” ` Ali said, “This morning he is better, with the grace of Allah.” Al-`Abbas held `Ali by the hand and said, “Don’t you see him (about to die)? By Allah, within three days you will be the slave of the stick (i.e., under the command of another will die (ﷺ) ruler). By Allah, I think that Allah’s Messenger from his present ailment, for I know the signs of death on the faces of the offspring of `Abdul Muttalib. So let us go to to ask him who will take over the (ﷺ) Allah’s Messenger Caliphate. If the authority is given to us, we will know it, and if it is given to somebody else we will request him to recommend us to him. ” for the (ﷺ) Ali said, “By Allah! If we ask Allah’s Messenger` rulership and he refuses, then the people will never give it for (ﷺ) to us. Besides, I will never ask Allah’s Messenger it.”[1] 2: The Shia are extremely fanatical towards Ali and Ali rejected this. said: “ Some people will love so much ( رﺿــﻲ اﻟﻠــﻪ ﻋﻨــﻪ) Ali that it will cause them to enter Hell and others will hate me so much that they will enter the fire.[2] to be a Kafir,but (رﺿﻲ اﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻨﻪ) The Shia consider Abu Bakr :3 Ali praised him Ali() said: “The best people after the Prophet was Abu Bakr then Umar.”[3] 4: The Shia say Abu Bakr was ignorant of Fiqh , Ali said he was 1st join Quran and Sunnah. Ali said: “The 1st person to connect the Quran and Sunnah together was Abu Bakr.”[4] 5. The Shia consider Umar a Kafir,but Ali praised him Ali said: “ We were never surprised that the truth always came from the mouth of Umar.”[5] 6. The Shia say Umar changed the Sunnah and deviated, but Ali insisted his way was right. Ali said to the people of Najran, “ Umar was rightly guided in all affairs and I wont changed anything that he has put in place.”[6] 7. The shia reject the Sunnah of Umar, but Ali loved it. `Ali bin Abi Talib. `Ali invoked Allah’s Mercy for `Umar and said, “O `Umar! You have not left behind you a person whose deeds I like to imitate and meet Allah with more than I like your deeds. By Allah! I always thought that Allah would keep you with your two companions, for very often I used to hear saying, ‘I, Abu Bakr and `Umar went (ﷺ) the Prophet (somewhere); I, Abu Bakr and `Umar entered (somewhere); and I, Abu Bakr and `Umar went out.”‘[7] 8. The Shia say Uthman was a Kafir but Ali praised him. One day on the Minbar Ali read the verse : Verily those for whom the good has preceded from Us, they will be removed far therefrom (Hell)[ Al-Anbiyah :101} Then said : Uthman is included among these people in this verse.[8] 9. The Shia reject the permissibility of wiping over footwear. Ali ibn Abu Talib: If the religion were based on opinion, it would be more important to wipe the under part of the shoe (ﷺ) than the upper but I have seen the Messenger of Allah wiping over the upper part of his shoes.[9] 10. The shia allow marriage without the guardian and witnesses Ali said: “Any woman who gets married without the consent of her Wali, then her marriage is false. No marriage is correct until there is a Wali.”[10] 11. The Shia practice Mut’ah[ temporary marriage] Ali bin Abi Talib narrated: “The Prophet prohibited the Mut’ah with women, and the meat of domestic donkeys during (the campaign of) Khaibar.”[11] 12. The Shia don’t believe the Current Muslim rulers are legitimate. Ali said: It’s an obligation on the Muslim ruler to rule by the Shariah and carry out his trust honestly. When he does this the people must hear,obey and answer him when he calls them to fight.[12] 13.The Shia deny the Qadr said: The slave will never taste (ﷺ) Ali narrated the Prophet the sweetness of faith until he accepts and believes in every aspect of the Qadr.[13] 14. The raise the graves of their Imans and make them places of worship. ‘Ali (b. Abu Talib) said to Abul Hayyaj Al-Asadi Should I not send you on the same mission as Allah’s Messenger sent me?
