RINAT TEFILLA GUIDE FOR BACKYARD MINYANIM: AUGUST 13TH, 2020 Thursday August 13th Mincha • Full Chazorat hashatz • Tachanun is recited Friday August 14th Shacharit • Put on tallit and tefillin at home • Say birchat hashachar at home up to Rabbi Yishmael • Minyan convenes at Rabbi Yishmael, kaddish (if aveilim are present) and then pesukei d'zimra etc. • Full Chazorat hashatz • Tachanun is recited Mincha • Full Chazorat hashatz • No tachanun Kabbalat Shabbat/Maariv • No magen avot Shabbat August 15th • Put on tallit at home. • Say birchat hashachar at home up to Rabbi Yishmael • Minyan convenes at Rabbi Yishmael, kaddish (if aveilim are present) and then pesukei d'zimra etc. • Full Chazorat hashatz • After kaddish shalem - assuming no sefer Torah* - recite both Yikum Purkan paragraphs and the Misheberach for the kehilla. • Tefilla l'shlom malchut, Tefilla 'shlom hamedina and MiSheberach for tzahal are recited (attached) • Birchat Hachodesh for Elul is recited (Thursday and Friday). Moled is Wednesday, August 19th 1:54 (16 chalakim) AM • Av Harachamim is not recited • Ashrei is recited followed immediately by chatzi kaddish • Full Chazorat hashatz for Mussaf Sunday - Wednesday (August 16th-19th) Shacharit • Put on tallit and tefillin at home • Say birchat hashachar at home up to Rabbi Yishmael • Minyan convenes at Rabbi Yishmael, kaddish (if aveilim are present) and then pesukei d'zimra etc. • Full Chazorat hashatz • Tachanun is recited followed by chatzi kaddish • On Monday - assuming no sefer Torah* - skip to Ashrei Mincha • Full Chazorat hashatz • Tachanun is recited (except Wednesday) Maariv • Recite ya'aleh v'yavoh (Wednesday only) Thursday (August 20th) Rosh Chodesh Shacharit • Put on tallit and tefillin at home (but bring tefillin bag) • Say birchat hashachar and pesukei d'zimra at home up to Yishtabach • Minyan convenes at Yishtabach, chatzi kaddish, Borchu etc. • Full Chazorat hashatz • Chatzi Hallel is recited followed by kaddish shalem • Assuming no sefer Torah* - skip to Ashrei • Lamenatzeiach is not recited • Uvah letzion is recited • Remove tefillin • Chatzi kaddish followed by Mussaf • Full Chazorat hashatz for Mussaf • Kaddish shalem, aleinu and the yom • Borchi nafshi is recited Mincha • Recite ya'aleh v'yavoh • Full Chazorat hashatz • Tachanun is not recited Maariv • Recite ya'aleh v'yavoh • Begin to recite l'dovid Hashem ori *If a sefer Torah is present • Only the ba’al kriah should handle the sefer Torah including peticha, hagbah and gelila (which should simply occur on the table where the leining takes place). • The ba’al kriah will receive all aliyot and will make a separate opening and closing bracha for each aliya (3 sets on weekdays, 7 sets on Shabbat). • Unless the ba’al kriah is a kohen, all kohanim should leave the davening temporarily while the first aliya begins. • On Shabbat, there’s no need for a maftir aliya or for chatzi kaddish following the kriah. • On Shabbat, the ba’al kriah recites the brachot before and following the haftarah, but someone else may lein the haftarah if so desired. • Under no circumstances should a sefer Torah be loaned to an additional minyan. • One communal MiSheberach for Cholim may be recited. These minyanim operate under the guidelines established by the RCBC. .
