Enterprise Duration Grant Size Description Economic Interest Group (GIE) 2013-2017 $153,927 Sector: Agro-Processing (Millet and Corn) Takku Location: Yembeul, Dakar 2855-SEN Summary: The project funds will be used to improve the level of the group’s productivity through the building of a production center, increase working capital, and modernize equipment so that the entire group can work daily, meet its production targets, and more efficiently satisfy its orders. SV Thilène Village Section (Section 2014-2018 $214,792 Sector: Food Production (Rice and Vegetables) Villageoise de Thilène) Location: Dagana Department, Saint-Louis region 3000-SEN Summary: The project funds will be used to establish a irrigation system and develop 35 hectares of land in addition to the 150 hectares that it already cultivates. The funds will also be used to rehabilitate the feeder canal and establish a revolving fund to purchase rice for processing. This investment greatly affects the group’s production capacity as well as the community around them with increased access to irrigated water for their fields. GIE Alamina Njoo 2014-2017 $203,319 Sector: Food Production (Rice and Vegetables) 3159-SEN Location: Alwar, Ndioum, Saint-Louis region Summary: The project funds will be used to establish an irrigation system and develop 35 hectares of land, in addition to the 150 hectares already being cultivated. The funds will also be used to rehabilitate the feeder canal and establish a revolving fund to purchase rice for processing. GIE Bokk Doole de Maka Sarr 4039- 2015-2017 $73,705 Sector: Food Production (Vegetables and Cereal Bank) SEN Location: Maka Sarr, Thies region Summary: The project funds will be used to provide inputs and equipment for a garden, as well as construct a cereal bank and provide working capital to stock the cereal bank to help improve food security in the 12 villages of the organization. The funds will be used to construct a cereal bank and for working capital to purchase an initial stock of cereals to improve the food security in member villages. GIE Wende Dieng 2015-2018 $185,899 Sector: Food Production (Vegetables) 4120-SEN Location: Walaldé, Ile à Morphil, St. Louis region Summary: The project funds will be used to develop 16 hectares of land, provide an irrigation system, fencing, a rototiller, inputs and training in composting and agro-ecological alternatives to pesticide use. This will increase the group’s production as well as provide a technical background in order to encourage environmentally safe agricultural practices. GIE Regroupment des 2015-2017 $66,441 Sector: Food Production and Processing (Onions and Cereals) Horticulteurs et Maraichers de Location: Gandiol, St. Louis region Gandiol (RHMG)4195-SEN Summary: The project funds will be used to provide mill shelters and mills for cereal processing, small equipment, an inputs fund for onion production and a fund to purchase paddy rice to process and sell. Training in financial, organizational, and cereal bank management will be provided to help the group increase its management and operational capacity and become sustainable. GIE Kanbeng Sourouyel Moulaye 2016-2018 $61,973 Sector: Food Production and Processing (Peanuts) 4285-SEN Location: Souriel Moulaye, Kolda region Summary: The project will provide equipment to improve peanut and grain processing as well as improve its organizational and financial management capacity. Training in financial, organizational, and cooperative management will be provided to help the group increase its management and operational capacity and become sustainable. GIE Kougnikolo 2016-2018 $76,856 Sector: Food Production (Bananas) 4327-SEN Location: Sathioum, Sedhiou region Summary: The project will provide an enclosure around the banana production area as well as training in improved banana production and disease control techniques. Training in financial and organizational management will be provided to help the group increase its management and operational capacity and become sustainable. GIE Katama 2016-2018 $78,249 Sector: Food Production (Vegetables, mainly hot peppers and tomatoes, and Fruit) 4369-MRT Location: Tobor, Ziguinchor Region Summary: The project will be used to develop the group’s land, a surface area of 22 hectares, to produce enough vegetables to supply the local demand and thereby, generate income for its members. Training in financial and organizational management will be provided to help the group increase its management and operational capacity and become sustainable. GPF Oulad Berry Ndioum 2016-2018 $69,630 Sector: Food Production (Animal Husbandry, Cereal Bank) 4075-SEN Location: Ndioum, Saint-Louis region Summary: The project funds will be used to provide a working capital fund to expand a sheep breeding project that will benefit the women in the organization. This project will allow to group to increase the number of members able to cultivate on their land as well as assist them in meeting the demand for vegetables and processed cereals in the community. GIE Kawral Wassadou 2016-2018 $83,999 Sector: Food Production (Vegetables, Cereal Processing) 4378-SEN Location: Wassadou, Kolda region Summary: The project funds will be used to double the land currently used by the group by extending the current fence as well as dig a second well, equipped with a solar pump and an improved irrigation system. There will also be an investment in a mill to process cereals produced locally. This project will allow to group to increase the number of members able to cultivate on their land as well as assist them in meeting the demand for vegetables and processed cereals in the community. GIE Fanka 2016-2018 $82,937 Sector: Food Production (Vegetables) 4379-SEN Location: Diende, Sédhiou region Summary: The project will assist the group to double the land they currently cultivate by installing a fence and a solar powered irrigation system. This project will allow to group to increase the number of members able to cultivate on their land as well as assist them in meeting the demand for vegetable in the community. GIE UGDEN 2017-2019 $38,974 Sector: Microcredit and Food Production (Touba Coffee) 4553-SEN Location: Notto, Thies region Summary: The project funds will be used to provide a working capital fund to this all women’s cooperative to expand an existing revolving credit fund and revolving fund for Touba coffee production inputs. Additionally, training in microcredit, bookkeeping, and organizational management will be provided to help the group increase its management and operational capacity and become sustainable. GIE Bokk Diomm 2017-2019 $77,552 Sector: Food Production (Vegetables) 4569-SEN Location: Beug Dieng, Thies region Summary: The project funds will be used to improve the production of the land currently used by the group by installing an improved irrigation system and fence. Additionally, training in financial and organizational management will be provided to help the group increase its management and operational capacity and become sustainable. GIE Noly 2017-2019 $77,605 Sector: Food Production (Vegetables) 4624-SEN Location: Balantacounda, Goudomp region Summary: The project will provide an enclosure around the banana production area as well as rehabilitate an existing shed used for sorting and packaging the group’s production. Training in improved banana production and disease control techniques will focus on improving production outputs while training in financial and organizational management will be provided to help the group increase its management and operational capacity.
